Clean neighborhood hub with lifeguards featuring a separate toddler pool and a park.
The main 50-meter Olympic-size pool at Walter Fuller Pool is heated. While a specific target temperature is not always publicly detailed, public recreational pools of this type are typically maintained at a comfortable temperature, often in the low 80s Fahrenheit (around 27-28°C), to accommodate year-round use. There is also a separate wading pool.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? This swimming pool receives mixed feedback. It is generally praised for its cleanliness, suitability for lap swimming, and the chiller system that keeps the water cool. Many appreciate dedicated staff members and its role as a community hub supporting swim teams. However, there are notable criticisms including the $10-15 entry fee, and particularly poor swim lessons, described as disorganized with ineffective teenage instructors, and some instructors not getting in the water with students. Other concerns include inconveniently short operating hours, especially on weekends, and a lack of staff knowledge regarding incidents. Some long-time users acknowledge that while the facility has served its purpose, it is now very busy and may require a future overhaul or expansion.

It's about $10-15 to get in to swim. It's perfect for lap swimming. I don't know if there's ever a time that children play in the water. It doesn't look like it. They have a chiller to keep the water from feeling too warm. Beautiful pool.
Clean pool, adult staff is the only thing saving this place. Swim lessons are a joke. This is the second week, we’re 10 minutes into lesson and my child has yet to leave the wall because the teenagers teaching can’t figure out who’s in who’s class or what to do with them. The teacher for the baby class won’t even get in the water with the parents. We had a much better experience with my other kid at the Jennie Hall pool.
I love this pool and the staff that work there. I was born and raised here in St. Pete and Ms. Lynn makes sure this pool is kept clean and that the guards serve each person that comes in. I am grateful to her and that I can swim in the mornings and that it stays open late enough to fit my schedule. I am grateful that our little girl has a SPA team to practice with and for Coach Joe. Our city has grown so much that this pool is a community hub for those who live in the upper reaches of our busy city. People who recently moved here take this pool for granted, but pools like Walter Fuller would close during the winter and the only lap swimming you could get was at North Shore. This pool is very busy now and will need support for a new facility overhaul at some point. It’s designed well for the 70’s, but this city is younger and will need more room. Walter Fuller park as a whole is an under utilized space that has massive room to grow and serve the community in the future.
Will someone explain to me why the pool hours are so short, especially on a Saturday, and no hours on a Sunday, and what we can do to change that? Between work and responsibilities, I have pretty much no time to enjoy the pool.
It's a swimming pool what can you say! I went there because my granddaughter got hurt while in attendance at her camp that was there . I was very upset that the girls at the desk knew nothing about it.
