What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews for OCCS present a mixed perspective. Many customers highly recommend the competitive swim team and private lessons, frequently praising the dedicated and skilled coaches (e.g., Pam, Kelly, Justin, Caleb) for fostering significant improvements in swimmers' performance and cultivating a friendly, supportive environment. Coach Caleb, in particular, received exceptional praise for his individualized, trust-based approach with a child with a disability, leading to rapid and noticeable progress. Conversely, significant frustration was expressed regarding the Adult Fitness program, citing a consistently non-functional website for enrollment and information, compounded by unhelpful staff responses. Additionally, one competitive team family felt that OCCS did not deliver on its stated promise of a safe and supportive team environment, leading to a negative experience and a perceived 'waste of one year'.

Forget trying to enroll/get info on Adult Fitness. Website says "No sessions found" for weeks. Four trips to the pool to try to get info on Adult Fitness program only to be told "Wait until next week for the website to be updated". No info, no enrollment without the website? Something besides the website seems to be broken.
Our daughter Juliana has been swimming with the competitive team since she was ~6yrs old (she's now turning 13) and I'd highly recommend the team for both swim lessons and competitive swim. OCCS is an exceptional swim team, with great coaches and team comradery! My daughter spent many years working with Coach Pam and is now working with Coach Kelly and Coach Justin and her performance has improved under their guidance to now being qualified for high level meets (including Junior Champs, Junior Olympics, and travel meets to Richmond, West Virginia, and ISCA in Florida).
We have been on OCCS for 8 years, the coaches are very dedicated and made my daughters enjoy competitive swim again. The environment that OCCS provides is very friendly.
My son takes private swim lessons with Coach Caleb, and he absolutely loves it. My son has a disability and was traumatized from earlier lessons at the "mommy and me" lessons geared towards babies and toddlers at other locations, so we decided to enroll him in a swim school that focused on different values and competition. From our first phone call, the coaches and managers we spoke to were extremely polite, professional, and genuinely listened to our concerns. They offered us a trial class, which my son loved. We decided to enroll him in private lessons with Coach Caleb, who has worked miracles with our son. My son trusts him and has completed swim tasks that he never did before. My son has been working with Coach Caleb for a little over a month now, and we have already noticed a significant improvement in my son's water skills. At the previous location, we saw little to no changes in over 3 months, but we noticed a change within 2 weeks. The coaches rely on trust, accommodation, and individualize their lessons for each learner. We are so happy to have found this place and plan to continue as long as my son allows!
We moved from NCAP to OCCS because the OCCS practice schedule work perfectly with our kid's activities. What OCCS's preach - a safe and supportive team environment and what they actually do is totally different. They can not even meet the bare minimum goal we expect from a swim club. A waste of one year!
