What are people saying (AI review summary)? Warwick Pool garners mixed reviews, with strong praise for its physical attributes and local feel, but significant criticism regarding accessibility and operating hours. Positively, the pool is described as well-maintained, clean, organized, and a good size, featuring dedicated areas for children and laps, along with ample lounge chairs, umbrellas, locker rooms, showers, and handicapped access. Its location in a lovely neighborhood and the less crowded atmosphere compared to other pools are also appreciated. Special events, such as the dog swim, are highly commended for being well-organized and enjoyable. However, a major point of frustration for many families is the severe difficulty in gaining entry due to strict capacity limits and often insufficient lifeguard staffing, leading to long wait times and frequent disappointment, making season passes seem not worthwhile. Operating hours are another significant drawback, with many reviewers requesting earlier opening times (e.g., 10 am instead of 12 pm) and an extended full-day operating season (from Memorial Day to Labor Day) to better accommodate families with young children and busy summer schedules. A minor point of contention is the inability to bring outside snacks or lunch. In essence, while the facility itself is highly regarded, its operational constraints severely impact user satisfaction.

We came for the end of the season dog swim and had a blast! Incredibly well organized, staff were very friendly, and my pup had the time of her life. Really appreciate you guys doing this twice a year and for making it free!
Great pool if you can actually get in, but given you can't ever actually get in, average 1 star. There is always a line, where you have to wait for someone to leave in order to enter, meaning the wait time is significant. Try explaining that to your 4 year old sitting out in the sun who thought they were coming to enjoy the refreshing relief of the pool. Attempts to visit Warwick Pool have led to tears in our family more often than not. The season pass costs frustratingly more per visit than the day passes when you physically can't use it enough in one summer due to waits. Especially infuriating when you can see that there aren't many people inside the pool, but they don't have enough life guards staffed to accommodate more people.
This community pool is nestled in a lovely neighborhood. Good size with children's pool, area specified for laps & open section. Lower fees for Virginia residents. Bring identification. Pool appears well maintained. Plenty of lounge chairs & umbrellas. Locker room area with showers. Handicapped access. Street parking.
Do's and don'ts for those who are new to this pool and the city pools in general. Do: Expect banker's hours which will fluctuate over the summer. Do: Expect to spend more time strategizing and planning on when might be the best time to attempt a pool visit than actual time in the pool Don't: Expect to get into the pool unless it's 60 degrees and raining on a Tuesday. Do: Lobby the city to build more pool facilities. Do: Expect a decent experience should you be lucky enough to get into the pool on a nice day.
Love the facility & space overall, & especially the size compared to the Charles Houston location it is much bigger, less overrun by the endless summer camps that take over that place (CH). Wish it was ok to bring snacks/lunch in to pool grounds. I worked at a pool in the summers for approx 8 years growing up and this was never an issue... We also love the proximity to home and the location in Del Ray; feels like a true neighborhood pool. It is clean and organized, my son & I especially loved spending time here overall this summer during the weekdays and dad would join us on the wknd. *****Request for Summer 2019***** Better hours, especially in a neighborhood full of young children/families: 1. Throughout the summer please please open at 10am instead of 12pm! This makes a *huge* difference for those of us with little kids (babies/toddlers) who nap by 12 or 1pm when currently the pool is just opening up. Our time is so limited this summer before camps roll in (1pm) and naptime approaches. Open time at 10am would be amazing for 2019! 2. Please consider opening during the day from Memorial Day (or at least early June!) through Labor Day weekend would be great for those of us whose summer doesnt only run June 20-Aug20! (Not just 430-730pm before June 20 and after Aug 20.) These hours factors would make it much easier to justify a family membership/season pass. Currently the hours we can go are just so limited it wasn’t worth it.
