What are people saying (AI review summary)? Bolton Pool is widely regarded as one of Winston-Salem's best public pools, consistently praised for its cleanliness, family-friendly atmosphere, and spacious environment. Patrons appreciate the professional and attentive lifeguards, well-maintained water, and various amenities including a fun slide, multiple diving boards, a separate splash pad, swim lanes, and shaded seating areas. The facility is noted for its convenient location, acceptance of both card and cash, and availability of food and drinks. While lifeguards are generally commended for ensuring safety through swim tests and providing life vests, one significant negative experience involved a child, who had previously passed swim tests, being arbitrarily deemed 'struggling' by a lifeguard, leading to an early departure and a denied refund. The pool also has a policy requiring actual swimsuits for entry.

Me and my 4 kids had a very good time. They have a very big pool, with multiple diving boards, a swim lane, and plenty of life vests for the kids. There are many life guards, and they do a good job watching the kids, making sure the small kids don't go in the deep end, and making sure they have their life vests on. I was very pleased. 👍👍
Bolton Pool is one of the best public pools in Winston-Salem! The facility is clean, the lifeguards are professional and attentive, and the atmosphere is very family-friendly. The pool has plenty of space for swimming, a fun slide for kids, and shaded areas for relaxing. It’s never overly crowded, and the water is always well-maintained. Great spot to cool off during the summer and perfect for families or anyone just looking to swim and unwind. Highly recommend checking it out!
My absolute go-to public swimming pool. It's conveniently close to my neighborhood, accepts card and cash, has shaded seating area, food and drinks, a separate splash pad area, 3 diving boards, the bathrooms are well-maintained, and no matter how busy it gets, there's always plenty of space to swim and relax. The lifeguards are attentive and make sure all the guests are safe, making sure younger guests pass swim tests before jumping in and there's no rough play in the water. It's always a pleasant experience at this location.
Great place! Edit: I had previously left a 5 star review but I amending it to 1. Which is really disappointing as my kid and I spent all summer here and really loved it. There is a test kids have to take to make sure that they can swim. Mine can. We have family that have pools but sometimes it’s nice to get out of the normal places and go where people are. Also this pool is much bigger and has diving boards. Anyway we have gone probably 20-25 times in total and she has always passed the tests, no problem. She has done the diving boards and swam laps in the deep deep end. Today her and I were playing in an area that’s up to her neck and she was bouncing up and down. Then I swam up and pulled her under then put her onto back. A lifeguard called us over and said she was struggling and she either had to put on a life jacket or go in the shallow end of the pool. That’s not fun for her as she came there to swim. So we decided to leave and as we had been there less then 30 minutes I wanted my money neg back which they wouldn’t do due to policy and said it was up to the lifeguards discretion (respect lifeguards but this kid was maybe 14). Yrs it was only a 5 dollar admission but it is the principal I feel like I paid for a service I didn’t get. And I am really sick of businesses ripping people off. If she hadn’t pasted the test that would be one thing but she did. If she was really struggling I would understand but she wasn’t.
Had a great time with the whole family, mother-in-law included. Just make sure you have an actual swimsuit or they will not allow you to enter.
