What are people saying (AI review summary)? This pool receives mixed reviews, often highlighting a stark contrast between its amenities and restrictive policies. Positive feedback consistently praises the remodeled, clean facility, the availability of free swim lessons, and the friendly, knowledgeable staff and lifeguards. Patrons appreciate being able to bring their own food and drinks (no glass or alcohol), the presence of bathrooms with showers, and reasonable admission prices ($3 for adults, $2 for kids under 12) with good daily operating hours. However, numerous negative experiences revolve around the pool's strict and often unclear rules, especially concerning children. Many reviewers express frustration with the mandatory swim test for all minors, the restriction of children under 4ft (and those who can't pass the swim test) to the 2ft deep area, and the requirement for parents to remain within arm's reach, effectively limiting parents to only the shallow end. This often prevents siblings from swimming together and restricts access to other pool features like diving boards. Other significant complaints include a severe lack of seating, forcing patrons to sit on the ground, uncomfortable requests by staff to show swimwear, and issues with restroom access, including locked restrooms during a rented party and a reported charge for restroom use. These strict rules and perceived inconveniences often lead to a 'first and last time' sentiment for many visitors.

Kids 4ft and below are restricted to the 2ft area and parents must stay within arms reach of them at all times, which means if you have kids you aren’t allowed to go to any other part of the pool. The swim test for every single minor is egregious and there isn’t enough chairs or seating at this pool. We had to sit on the ground in the shade by the men’s bathroom… there are better pools like Tanglewood. Sucks this is the only public pool in Tobaccoville and King.
First and last time visiting this pool. I brought my 8 and 5 year old children, and both were required to wear a life jacket since neither could pass the swim test. (They provide life jackets, or you can bring your own as long as it's USCG approved—they do check.) However, because my 5 year old isn't 4ft tall, he was restricted to the 2ft area. That meant my children couldn't swim or play together unless my 8 year old stayed in the 2ft section too, which he didn’t want to do because it felt like the "kiddie area." Neither of them were allowed in the area with the diving board, and a parent or adult must remain within arm’s reach of any child restricted to the 2ft area. Again—first and last visit. I was not aware of all these rules, and they were not clearly communicated before entering. Had we known, we would not have gone in. Also, the first red flag was when we arrived: we were asked if everyone had on swimwear, to which I said yes. I was then asked to show my swimsuit, as I had a shirt and shorts over it. Completely unnecessary and uncomfortable.
I think it is a shame!!! My grandson has his sixth birthday party here. First time we ever used this location. But ALL Restrooms locked..could not use Restrooms at all there. We.had small children there too. And my daughter rented this place for the Birthday Party. You would think you would be able to use the Restroom there. I mean it is very normal in Human Nature. You just might need to GO!!!And on top of that you want to charge $ 3.00 to use your Restroom????HAHA HaHa🤣 I don't think🥹🤣 so....somebody needs rethink this one over. I guess you all got paid ....and still have a Restroom to use. How ironic is this? Nice to Know!!!!!! Enjoy your Restroom !!!! This will be my last time stopping by at this place.. my first and my last. Time!!!!!!
Nice outdoor pool in a quiet rural area. They are one of the pools in Winston-Salem that provides free swim lessons for children. My kids learned alot even in the first lesson. Staff is knowledge and friendly.
Love this remodeled pool! Clean , with many friendly lifeguards...you can bring food and drinks as long as it's not in a glass or alcohol. There are some pool chairs, but they go quick, so bring your own! Bathroom with shower. Really, really nice! It is $3 for adults, and $2 for kids under 12. Hours are great, Monday through sunday... 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
