The Nazareth YMCA, located at 33 S Main St, Nazareth, PA 18064, USA, serves as a vital community hub offering a wide array of programs and facilities focused on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. It typically features a fitness center, group exercise classes, sports leagues, youth and family programs, and aquatics. It is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment for all ages and abilities within the Nazareth community.
The Nazareth YMCA features an indoor heated pool. While specific, daily pool temperatures are not always publicly detailed, YMCA aquatic facilities generally maintain their main lap pools between 79-82°F (26-28°C) for comfortable swimming and lap activities, and any dedicated warm water or therapy pools, if present, are typically kept warmer, often between 86-90°F (30-32°C).
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The YMCA receives high praise for its exceptionally kind and helpful staff, particularly within its child watch program, which is highly valued by parents for providing a trusted and engaging environment for children. Members also appreciate the modern, well-equipped, and generally uncrowded gym facilities, as well as effective swim classes. However, a significant point of contention is the severely limited and "slashed" pool schedule. This limited access leads to severe overcrowding, difficulties in lane sharing, and frustration among various member groups, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and general lap swimmers. Critics also express concern over the perceived lack of lifeguards, management's decisions regarding pool operations, and question the YMCA's non-profit status, with some members considering leaving due to these issues.

I visited today for the first time. You can't find more friendly people. They offered a tour (special thanks to Karen) and answered questions like a fancy resort hotel staff might. I joined and plan to swim there, although there are closer Ys for me. The pool looks great-just what my Dr. ordered.
Our family has been to so many YMCAs and this is absolutely the best one. I cannot be more grateful for the staff. They are always kind and nice to talk to. I use the child watch for the gym which is such an amazing program. The women & young girls who watch the kids are wonderful. One of my girls is a little difficult being left there and they always make her feel comfortable and stop crying really quickly. The ability to leave my kids in a great environment where they can run and play and I really trust the care they get is something I wish every parent had access to. The gym is also nice they have plenty of equipment. It’s never over crowded and most of the members have good gym etiquette. I’d give 10 stars for this Y if I could!
It looks like Saturday you can go swimming from 9-11am o wow how generous giving us a bone to chew on, they should show new people when the pools closed and they may not join,It looks like they are going to keep this pool schedule for the fall if they opened the pool on Friday it might help alleviate the over crowded conditions,to cheap to hire life guards,a nice pool but closed what good to the community does that do?if elevations health club ever opens up I'm out of here and they'll loose a silver sneakers member.they had a nice pool ,Find it hard to share a lane, and I've seen members have their coach to reserve a lane by putting their equipment at the end of the lane they have some nerve to think that they are better than everyone else, until they come out of the locker room so that's more that members have to wait for a lane and they usually spend a good hour in it alone !some members like to hog the lane, and I got dirty looks by a member. Who looked like he was swimming with a c-pac mask on some people aren't fit to swim, and some of the real athletic, you can't go in the lane with them especially if you are older and not as fast, so this schedule hurts the older members that have been in the y for a long time New pool schedule If you're lucky you might be able to swim, the slashed pool schedule .all of the morning swimmers now come at 1 pm.and the afternoon swimmers also at 1pm. So it's really crowded with swimmers from other YMCAs., and seniors with joint issues using the pool because of the low impact I really feel for the disabled person in wind Gap now that can't get in the pool now do to members from other ys comming and swimming in the special lane for disability being closed Friday and Saturday really throws everyone's schedule in disarray Stroudsburg YMCA might be better now and that's really scraping the bottom of the barrel . How are they going to give swimming lessons when the pool is closed.the lifeguard shortage was an excuse to cut the pool down.now.the y is now Part of river crossing in buck's county, suppose to be non for profit, I wonder.and I get e mails about all the programs that they have, but they have no money to open one of the pools on Friday.
Go for my daughter's swim classes and they are really helping compared to the slate belt ymca which was not as much progress
Gym equipment is pretty nice and modern, nothing feels dated. Fer child care included in membership is huge bonus for parents like myself. Heated pool is great too
