British Swim School in Ann Arbor is absolutely incredible place to learn swimming. I had zero experience and never imagined that I will be able to swim but thanks to the amazing instructor Steve, in just few lessons I can back float, front glide, barrel roll and swim!!! Tori, another instructor there, is also very nice. They keenly pay attention to the progress that students are making and always give extremely helpful hints to improve. They let you learn at your own pace while being very kind and encouraging all the time. Each and every lesson is so much fun there!!! I will forever be thankful to them for making me so comfortable in water. As an adult learner, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. If you want to learn swimming, please don’t hesitate in checking out this place.

This is a hidden gem when it comes to swimming programs! British Swimming School has been really great so far. Unlike other swimming schools, they offer both children's and adult classes, and their pricing is very straight forward. The main instructor, Steve, is top notch. He is so patient with both kids and adults! They don't have their own swimming pool, but use the one at TownPlace Suites of Ann Arbor which is fairly warm and very clean and bright. Their program is structured with different skill levels, but all with an emphasis on water survival. While other schools and programs focus heavily on swim form without regard for basics, this school focuses more on safety, on making swimming a lifelong activity that you'll love, and on being confident so you can learn proper form more easily. My kids are taking a class here. Due to their special needs, the owner, Stephen, was kind enough to limit registrations so they would have a session just for the two of them! (Typically there are 4-6 students per class depending on level). I can't thank them enough for doing something so kind. I imagine they aren't making much money on that session, so this says a lot about their business practices and how much they want to give back to the community! I recently started an adult swim class as well, and it has been great. There are many basic skills that I didn't learn as I progressed through swim classes elsewhere, but Steve is making sure I master all those skills to help me increase endurance and feel safer in the water. Even though there are 2 other people in my class, the instruction is very individualized. Steve spends time with each student to work on a skill, then that student practices a few minutes while he works on another skill with the next student. It honestly feels like I'm getting private lessons, but without the private lesson price tag! I can't recommend them enough. Whether you are looking for children's or adult lessons, regardless of physical ability, and no matter your level, British Swim School is the place to go!

Great program. My daughter has benefited tremendously. She has gone from being frightened to enter the pool without being held, crying if she gets splashed w/ water, to safe entry into the pool (by herself), going underwater, and floating in an inner tube with no support! She is definitely more confident when in the pool, I am very happy with the program ! Thanks BS!
