What are people saying (AI review summary)? Swim Atlanta receives largely positive feedback, particularly for its effective and patient instruction across various age groups and skill levels. Many reviewers highlight instructors as knowledgeable, encouraging, and capable of fostering significant progress, from children learning competitive strokes in just ten classes to adults overcoming severe fear of water. Instructors are often praised for their ability to tailor lessons to individual needs within group settings. However, there is one notable negative experience involving a 7-year-old beginner, where the instructor was perceived as unhelpful, annoyed, and negligent, leading to a quick withdrawal from the classes. A minor point of improvement mentioned is the need for cleaner or renovated bathrooms.

only giving a 2 star because they refunded me the next two days but I do not recommend this place for children! My daughter is 7 and not only was she next to the instructor when she started drowning in the water but it seems like her instructor was also annoyed by her. The class she signed up for was a beginners class and everyone else seemed to know what they were doing except her and her teacher did not seem willing to teach her the basics even after she asked my daughter if she ever swam before. Ended up walking out 10mins after the second day. Wanted to give them a chance but I had to call her dad because I was livid at the attitude and difference in how she treated my child v other children.
We have been going here a little over a year and absolutely love it. The instructors and knowledgeable and take their time with the children to make them feel comfortable. They also encourage the ones who need it.
My 9 year old started as a GS1. We finally got him in a swim class and we couldn’t be prouder of his progress. After just 10 classes, he went from a doggy paddle to learning four different competitive strokes. All of his coaches have encouraged and pushed him to be confident in the water. He is laser focused because they are engaging and he is able to follow their instructions very well. I would definitely consider Swim Atlanta if you are looking for swim classes in the area. Also, we just found out they offer lap swim! Maybank Media 7 #atlmediapro
Good place and instructors, they just need to clean the bathrooms or do renovations.
I decided to sign up for the adult beginner swim lessons at Swim Atlanta after 36 years of not being able to swim. I came in with no experience and being afraid of the water. It was bad y’all… it was to the point where my own husband, after one trip to the pool with me, said he couldn’t teach me and would rather just pay someone else to do it. So I signed up for swim lessons at Swim Atlanta hoping to be just ‘a little more’ comfortable. So y’all, I just finished my third lesson at Swim Atlanta and I really feel like a totally different person. My instructor Teddy nothing short of amazing. He was patient, he was kind and he met me right where I was at skill wise. He did not rush me, yet he challenged me just enough to help me leave each session feeling a bit more comfortable while acquiring a new skill. It really felt like he taught four individual classes (within the one group class), because the person that needed technique and form skills got just that and the person that was completely new to water was able to learn at their own pace. It’s definitely been challenging, but I’ll say that each time I go Teddy always encourages me, he helps me relax and I always leave being a better swimmer than I came. He has definitely has a gift. So if you are a new or beginner swimmer please do yourself a favor and sign up for his class!
