Ella Wooten Pool, located at 2047 Pinckney St, Austin, TX 78723, USA, is a popular public neighborhood pool managed by the City of Austin. It features a 25-yard, 6-lane design suitable for both lap swimming and general recreational use, serving as a community hub for aquatic activities.
Ella Wooten Pool is a heated facility, making it accessible for extended seasons or potentially year-round. The water temperature is typically maintained within a comfortable range of 80-82 degrees Fahrenheit (approximately 26.7-27.8 degrees Celsius).
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The pool facilities are generally praised as great, fun, and spacious, featuring three lanes, a large kiddie pool, and a separate deep end. Reviewers appreciate the handicap lift. However, there are significant complaints regarding unclear and unpredictable 'open swim' hours, especially for non-residents and handicap access. Many users found a lack of clear signage for all hours (regular and handicap), no information online or from staff, and issues with needing a key fob for entry. Several disabled individuals experienced frustration after traveling to the pool, only to find it closed or unattended during rumored handicap times, making the excellent lift unusable. Additional minor suggestions include adding more seating and shade.

“Open Swim” hours require a key fob to get in? If you want to exclude people, fine, but make it clear.
The pool and facilities are great. The open hours for non-residents is hard to predict. The attached photo of the sign doesn’t explain it all, so you just have to show up to find out.

Fun pool Big space with 3 lanes Big kiddie pool
Only things missing are some seating and a bit more options for shade. Otherwise, great place to spend a few hours with the family. Good size kids section and separate deep end.
