About

Goldfish Swim School - Northwest Hills, located in Austin, TX, offers specialized swim lessons for infants, children, and adults in a safe, fun, and tropical environment. They focus on water safety skills, stroke development, and building confidence in the water through their proprietary curriculum, small class sizes, and highly trained instructors. The facility provides a clean, bright, and welcoming atmosphere designed to make learning to swim an enjoyable experience for all ages.

Goldfish Swim School maintains its pools at a comfortable 90 degrees Fahrenheit (approximately 32 degrees Celsius). This warm water is specifically chosen to create a comfortable and inviting environment for swimmers of all ages, making it easier for children to learn and enjoy their lessons without feeling cold.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The majority of reviews express a highly positive experience, noting significant improvements in children's swimming abilities, a positive and encouraging atmosphere, and effective, patient, and energetic coaches. Staff members are frequently praised for being friendly, polite, and helpful, particularly with scheduling. The facility is described as clean, well-suited for children aged 4 months to 12 years, and accommodating various skill levels. However, one review details a very negative experience, where a 3-year-old cried before every lesson due to a lesson structure deemed inappropriate (too much theory, not enough practice for her age). This review also reported serious administrative issues, including being overcharged for membership cancellation, being unable to use make-up tokens for school-cancelled classes after membership expired, and an unauthorized $180 charge, leading to a strong recommendation against the school.

My grandsons loved the classes there. The 4 year old was not wanting to take the class, and was a little anxious about the unknown. The swim teachers put him at ease, and he eagerly went in the rest of the week. I enjoyed watching them learn the basics of swimming. I highly recommend this place. The staff are very friendly and polite.

I was a little nervous before enrolling my daughters at a swim school because I’ve heard not the best stories. Both of them had a previous ISR experience so they were not afraid of the water. In 4 months their abilities had improved so much. Thanks Lizzie at the main desk for your patience scheduling their classes. We had a wonderful experience with all the coaches. Special extra thanks to Shannon for your infinite patience and positive attitude always, to Nicole, I loved her attitude in the water and to Jackson, the energy he put in the few classes he gave to one of my daughters. It is really true that your experience at a swim school depends 100% on the coaches.

My son just turned 4 and loves the classes! We drive all the way from Leander to come here - I researched all of the swim schools in the area and found Goldfish to have the best reviews and it has been awesome! We love the positive atmosphere and constructive feedback each class - giving us something to help encourage our son to work on next class . We will be enrolling our little one soon as well 😁

Unfortunately, I have to leave a bad review, my daughter 3 years old went to school in tears every time, because the lesson is structured in such a way that the swimming coach gives theory half the time instead of practice, which is ridiculous for 3 year olds. Naturally, we cancelled our membership, for which they charged us an additional fee instead of 4 weeks, 6 weeks knowing that the child does not want to go swimming, then the school cancelled 2 lessons (the heater broke and because of weather conditions) and gave us a token, when I tried to reserve classes for them, I was not only refused because our membership expired and we cannot use them. Plus they again charged 180 dollars from our card ((( I highly recommend not to deal with this school.

This seems like a great indoor swim school for kids. The place is built for kids. This school has different swim levels from beginners to advanced swimmers (age 4 months to 12 years). This swim school is nice and clean and the staff is helpful and friendly.
