About

Life Time at 907 W 5th St, Austin, TX 78703 is an expansive athletic resort located in downtown Austin. It offers a premium wellness experience with state-of-the-art fitness equipment, a diverse range of group fitness classes (including cycling, yoga, and Pilates), personal training, indoor and outdoor pools, spa services (LifeSpa), a healthy cafe (LifeCafe), and often includes additional amenities like Kids Academy and basketball courts. It's designed as a comprehensive health and fitness destination.

Life Time facilities generally maintain their indoor lap pools at comfortable swimming temperatures, typically ranging from 80-84°F (26-29°C). Outdoor and leisure pools may have similar or slightly warmer temperatures depending on the season and specific design. Hot tubs are usually kept much warmer, often between 100-104°F (37-40°C). Specific, real-time pool temperatures for this exact location are best confirmed directly with the facility.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for this Life Time location are largely negative, particularly concerning cleanliness, facility maintenance, and overall value for money given the high membership cost. Multiple long-term members express disappointment with declining cleanliness standards, frequently closed or out-of-order amenities without communication, and outdated equipment, despite rising prices. While staff are generally described as kind and accommodating, patrons feel the facility does not meet the expected standards for a premium gym, especially when compared to other Life Time locations in Austin. Several reviewers are actively considering leaving due to these persistent issues. One positive experience noted the staff's accommodation for a business traveler and good equipment availability, but this was overshadowed by the prevalent negative feedback.

Been coming to this Life Time location for over 2 years and am officially searching for a new gym. It’s great that the gym is often not busy and the staff are kind, but other than that there is absolutely no reason for it to be one of the most expensive clubs in Austin. Cleanliness is an issue throughout and amenities are often closed with no communication sent, you just show up and things are labeled out of order. I have tried the other locations in Austin and have not had nearly as many occurrences of things being closed/cleanliness issues. It’s unfortunate because I genuinely enjoyed this gym, but nothing has changed or been improved in the two years I’ve been here, despite membership prices rising.

Was in town for business M-W. Showed up off the street, they asked how long I’d be in town and that they’d be happy to accommodate me the entire time I was in Austin. Now, I believe my membership tier in my home market may be higher than this one, but again, they were happy to accommodate regardless. It had 95% of all the free weights, machines and cardio offerings I expected to see. It was packed right after work hours but it was fine. Would go back and would send friends to this location for a convenient LTF offering.

Been coming here for almost three years and I'm not sure if it's just the wave of new people you get at the beginning of each year, or a change in management, but the cleanliness has absolutely gone way down. Employees are great but they need to make sure people put their stuff back or go and put it back for them. That's why I pay $250/m to come here over the other club gyms. If this doesn't improve, I'll be driving elsewhere for a membership rather than walking across the street, that's how bad it's gotten. Please do better.

Lifetime is probably the best gym chain as far as amenities and equipment, but it’s not worth $200 plus a month. It’s very crowded all the time, the basketball court is always being used by the kids camp, the basketball competition isn’t good for the price, and I stopped going because the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze! Hopefully they improve so I can go back.

The worst LT I’ve been to. To be fair, our home gym is the Westlake location, but everything here was outdated, lockers had greasy dust all over them, condensation dripping from AC ducts, bathrooms were filthy. Go to a different one in Austin. Wild if anyone thinks this is up to standard for LT.
