What are people saying (AI review summary)? Cascade Lake, once a lake that drained approximately 10 years ago, now functions as an event venue and summer camp. Reviewers note it's a good location for company gatherings, reunions, and parties. The summer camp receives high praise, with children loving the activities, field trips (including Kings Dominion), and the staff. However, the Christmas light display garners mixed reviews. While some found the lights beautiful, enjoyable for kids, with good music/food, and appreciated included photo opportunities and Santa meet-and-greets, others found it overpriced. Criticisms include additional 'pay-to-play' activities, advertisements at the start of the light walk, poor voice acting for the singing trees, expensive refreshments, and a muddy grass parking lot. Overall, it's recommended for summer camp, but potential visitors to the Christmas lights are advised to consider the cost and potential for additional expenses.

Beautiful Christmas light display. Lots of fun for the kids and ticket price includes several photo opportunities along with a Santa meet and greet.
Hi cascade lake is no longer a lake. I just got back home there. Apparently the lake drained about 10 years ago. Shane was very helpful. He said it is now a rental for parties and and a summer camp for children in the summer. How sad that the county won't help to make it a lake again without the county taking control. So sad. I remember going there with my grandparents about 25 years ago.
It's nice place for a company gathering, or reunions and or a large party.
We visited for the Christmas lights recently and it was cool. Good music and food also. My kids went to camp here 6/27-7/1. The kids loved it and the staff was great. My son loved the field trips epecially the Kings Dominion trip. Definitely recommend the summer camp here.
It isn't bad. But for the money, the Cascade lights is overpriced. The playground and obstacle course were both fun for my kids and has a nice large collection of inflatables and a fun little bubble snow machine. The light walk starts out as a 100 yard series of advertisement displays and then some cool light-tunnels. The singing trees are a cool display, but the script and voice actors sound like bad local theater. The worst part of the light walk for my family was that the walk out makes you walk through a cookies and milk stand (which was $5 for a school milk and a couple of cookies). The reindeer "eye-spy" is just a collection of white-light frame deer behind a fence with signs to tell you what to look for (a deer with backwards antlers, a crab... Etc). It did not capture my kids attention at all (they are 5 and 2). Everything else is pay to play, on top of the already steep-priced admission; throwing axes, photo booth, posed pictures. For what admission is, it feels like more should be included in the price. The parking lot is all grass with no walkways, so it was a still muddy mess a few days after a rain storm. I saw cars and strollers getting stuck. In all, only do it if you get a deal through partner sites or just really love being overcharged for some mediocre Christmas fun.
