The Greenbelt Outdoor Pool, located at 101 Centerway, Greenbelt, MD 20770, USA, is a popular seasonal community aquatic facility. It typically features a large main pool, often with amenities like diving boards and/or a flume slide, alongside a separate shallow wading pool designed for young children. Open seasonally, usually from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, it serves as a central recreational spot for residents.
Specific pool temperatures for the Greenbelt Outdoor Pool are not consistently published in public information sources. While outdoor pools are generally maintained at a comfortable swimming temperature, often through heating, an exact degree reading is not readily available.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the pool facility are mixed, with strong positive feedback for the 'awesome' and 'well-kept' facilities, particularly the pool itself. However, there is significant negative feedback regarding the staff and the residency policy. Several reviewers describe the staff as 'strict,' 'rude,' and 'mad with power,' enforcing rules to an excessive degree. A major point of contention is the admission policy, which restricts access for non-residents, especially on weekends and holidays. Non-residents express disappointment, finding the policy unclear on the website and feeling unwelcome, leading many to state they will take their business elsewhere. One review also mentioned a perception of prejudice regarding who was allowed in.

not welcoming to "non immediate area residents". Whatever that means. Was very disappointed after finding this as a nearby option for an open outdoor public pool in my area. I have a PG parks rec card etc, She wouldn't let us in based on whatever residency policy, which is not clear on the site. Not sure what harm letting a child in to swim on a hot day would have hurt if I was willing to pay. Will never go here again. It felt very prejudiced if you ask me as a I so no African Americans or anyone of color go in while we were waiting.
These people are strict you shouldn’t come to the pool they are strict and they said it’s not the first time people ever complained not recommended
only open for residents of Greenbelt. Disappointing especially when kids are involved. Front desk staff rude/“holier than thou” undertones when assisting nonresidents. Rather take my money elsewhere
The pool is awesome; staff is mad with power though (at least this year). Rule enforcement has got to the point that if they see you having fun they will ask you to stop because it's against the rules. But the facilities are great!
Well kept community pool. The few 'bad' reviews here are all from non-residents trying to access the pool on holidays or weekends when admission is restricted to Residents and Pass-holders. Here is the the 2022 Facility Policy: Monday-Friday: Open to all (Residents, Non-Residents, Guests and Pass-Holders) Weekends & Holidays: Admission restricted to Residents and Pass-Holders. They may be accompanied by three (3) paying guests. Check the website for current information.
