Outdoor swimming pool with a sprinkler and available poolside chairs.
Specific, consistently maintained pool temperatures for the War Memorial Public Pool are generally not advertised. As an outdoor seasonal facility, the water temperature is primarily ambient, providing a refreshing environment for swimmers during the warm summer season.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Visitors generally found the pool experience to be negative, primarily citing overly strict rules and the perceived rudeness of many lifeguards. Several reviews describe the environment as tense and unenjoyable, with children becoming upset due to the atmosphere. Key complaints about rules include prohibitions on water bottles, floats, and toys, mandatory swim tests for children under 12, enforced adult swim periods, and strict parent-child proximity requirements. While the pool's cleanliness was occasionally praised, other facility issues such as dirty/broken chairs, bugs in the water, and one reported incident of pool contamination were mentioned. Despite a reasonable entrance price and one mention of nice staff, the overwhelming sentiment suggests that the excessive rules and tense atmosphere significantly detract from the family experience, leading many reviewers to state they will not return.

I’m not much to write reviews but the lifeguards are rude to everyone … some can be nice but overall the few that are rude make the pool environment feel unenjoyable they make the environment feel tense it almost feels like being surveillance in jail and they are the cops. I would recommend management taking account all the reviews that were written. At the end of the day people are still paying for entry to have an enjoyable day with kids and family . This pool makes it unpleasant. Also if the pool closes at 6p or 5p lifeguards should be understanding and not rushing people to get out. If that’s the case I would suggest changing the business hours. The pool is clean that’s the only good thing I have to say about this pool. Thanks .
Probably one of the most strict pools we have been to. I recommend looking at the pictures of the rules before you go. The rule about no water bottles was a bit wild. I’m not sitting my water bottle in a group of bottles. Children under 12 have to pass a swim test or wear a life jacket. No floats or toys of any kind. Not many chairs and a few were broken. Most were dirty. The pool was clean for the most part with a few bugs. After about 50 minutes they do adult swim and make all the kids get out for at least 10 mins which was really odd to be honest. The rules seem overly excessive. Our 7 year old son was going in between the middle section and the sprinklers. We were within 5 ft of him but the lifeguard came over and told us we had to be on the same side of the rope as him at all times. Overall it’s an okay place to go for just swimming but we won’t be coming often.
I never write reviews but we won’t be back. Life guards were rude. I understand safety is a priority but holy moly, my son shed tears because of the tense environment
It's usually a decent place to take the kids swimming. Last week someone pooped in the pool. It was crowded up until then and suddenly there were lots of empty chairs to pick from. 😆
The staff is very nice and the entrance price is reasonable . I don’t suggest the pool for younger children who like to dive for toys since they’re not permitted and swim with their inflatables . My kids were also annoyed by the bugs being all over the water . I would Go back there but not with my children .
