I am not an ymca fan due to lack of cleanliness and other stuff but....I go there pretty often and the best this location have is coach Suzanne V. I just adore her HIT class. She is so professional, dedicated and just an amazing person . Thank you Suzanne for all your hard work. We love you!
I’m extremely disappointed with the experience my family and I had at this YMCA. We came expecting a family-friendly environment, but unfortunately, that was not the case. A lifeguard shouted at my nine-year-old son in front of everyone, causing him to feel embarrassed and upset. He was simply trying to swim in the pool, which we were told he was allowed to use, when he was publicly reprimanded without warning. There was no explanation given, no attempt to speak to us calmly, and the situation was handled in a completely unprofessional manner. I understand the importance of safety, but there are respectful and constructive ways to communicate with children, especially in a place that is supposed to be welcoming to families. This experience has left a very negative impression, and I hope the YMCA takes steps to better train their staff in dealing with young members respectfully.
I decided to end my membership at the YMCA after about 6 months or so and I'd like to add my input. Good things: Overall a nice, modern gym with lots of varying activities and this location is open everyday, or at least I think it was. For some reason it was closed on Sunday so maybe things have changed. Also the family pool area is very nice with two water slides and everyone seens to be enjoying themselves there. Things that bothered me: Maybe this is a common thing for gyms with daycare but its only open until 12pm, and it reopens sometime later in the afternoon like 4:30. This personally didnt work out for me because my ideal time to get to the gym would probably be like at 1pm but when it has to be before 12pm I feel so rushed and dont even want to go and after 4:30 is also not a good time because thats around dinner time and the day is getting too late for my little ones already. When the family pass costs almost $100 each this was a major reason why I decided to discontinue it as this family pass was barely getting used. The only other thing that bothered me one time was when a young lifeguard told me once that I could stay in the pool but then he quickly changed his mind and said I had to leave because of swim lessons. Im already over it and it was my fault for not knowing the pool wasnt available on Saturdays before 12 due to swin lessons, but it was very annoying and such an inconvenience since like I stated before I HAD to get there before 12 because of the daycare hours, so again, those daycare hours really just made give up on this place. I have to say though it is a nice facility overall but its just difficult when you gotta bring the kids along. The problem isnt magically solved just because theres a daycare and I realized that the hard way. Im sure this place would be perfect for someone who is single and isnt subjected to going at certain times of the day and so on.
Amazing family indoor mini water park! And great staff for the most part, some of the younger male lifeguards were aggressive with telling kids to not play a certain way, but ALL the lifeguards (and there were many) were very focused and on top of everyone's safety in and around the water park. If you go online and sign up for a 1-time day guest pass the WHOLE YMCA access is free! And the kids had plenty to do even though the indoor Waterpark is smaller. It was just the right size for babies to teens, and there's seats for parents who are boring and dont want to swim lol. Highly recommend going, im definitely going back!!
Beware of Kids Corner. Both of my kids got physically hit by other kids on 2 separate occasions. They claim they have a 0 tolerance policy in place and are fully staffed but no one did anything to rectify the situation . Also they claim they are fully staffed but my child was getting hit and scratched as I was walking in and a staff member was standing next to her. I called several times to see how they will resolve the situation and they never called back. Obviously they don’t care.
