This store is using the name “Just Add Water”, which was originally created and built by my father, Paul G. Perkins, over 25 years ago in this same location. Our family business, Just Add Water Pools and Spas, closed in October 2024 when my father’s health declined. This retail store is owned by Greg Dunham; who declined to buy the name and the inventory. People have contacted us believing this is the same business or a continuation of the one my father ran. It is not affiliated with our family. We appreciate the loyalty of longtime customers to Just Add Water Pools And Spas and want to clear up the noted confusion of "new owner" referenced in reviews. Perkins In response to the business’s reply under my original post: 🔹 My father did not “stop by the store” as a customer or partner. He has dementia and mistakenly wandered in, believing it was still his. My brother went there to bring him home. Greg Dunham was present and fully aware of this. To reframe that moment as a “business discussion” is knowingly misleading. At that time, Greg told Brian that his brother would be taking over the store. Brian’s only concern in that moment was the safety and well-being of our father — nothing else. 🔹 No sale of the name ever occurred — Greg declined the full business in 2023 due to lack of financing. He declined the inventory-only offer in 2024. The name Just Add Water Pools and Spas was never transferred and was explicitly excluded. Yet he registered an identical fictitious name and opened in the same location. 🔹 The claim of a longstanding relationship between “two families” is misleading. While Greg Dunham received discounted products from Just Add Water Pools And Spas over the years and was referred business like other local pool service providers, there was no personal or business relationship between our broader families. My father did not work with Greg’s family and had no positive association with Greg’s father’s former store. Although Greg once said he planned to open a business with his son, Richard, and Richard briefly spoke with my brother Scott about inventory in 2024, there was no negotiation, sale, or shared venture. Any suggestion of familial collaboration is false. We remain committed to protecting the name my father spent 25+ years building. Truth matters. Legacy matters.
