Hydrous Wake Park

280 E Eldorado Pkwy, Little Elm, TX 75068, USA

About

Fun place for kids, teens and adults to ride cables for wakeboarding.

Hydrous Wake Park utilizes a natural lake/pond for its water activities, not traditional heated pools. Therefore, the water temperature is ambient and seasonal, fluctuating with the weather and not actively regulated or maintained at a specific temperature.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for this water park indicate a mixed but generally positive experience. Many customers praise the excellent cable wakeboarding system, highlighting that it's great for first-timers and offers a quick learning curve, even for those living far from beaches. Instructors like Aaron are frequently commended for being incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and patient, especially with children. The kids' camps are also highly recommended for their personalized experience and fun atmosphere. However, some criticisms were noted regarding the aqua park, with mentions of poor water quality, inflatables getting very hot, and the necessity of wearing water shoes. A significant negative point was a specific interaction with a staff member named Jake, who was described as rude and unhelpful, particularly towards families with children. Despite this, the overall sentiment points to a valuable and surprising find in Texas for water sports enthusiasts, with generally friendly and skilled staff.

My daughter's wish for this summer was to go surfing for the first time. We live in Dallas so there are no beaches less than a few hours drive away. Lo and behold, a little search on Google and we find this gem in Little Elm. We were able to get a lesson and start wake boarding within 10 minutes of arriving! We never even tried this before. The guides were super helpful and gave great advice to get us up and going. The waterpark has a cable system that pulls you around the water as if attached behind a boat. We were able to go around 15 times in the 2 hour session. Total fun with the family.

The staff is very friendly, but I didn't enjoy the aqua park. It’s essential to wear water shoes because walking around the course is nearly impossible without them. The water quality is poor, and I wish they would treat it. Additionally, the inflatables heat up quickly in the sun. While it looks fun, overall, it wasn't worth the visit.

My kids, 9 and 11, just finished day 1 of camp. Amazing! Hands down and agreed by all, including myself, best camp of the summer. Can’t wait until tomorrow. Small groups, personalized experience so that they can learn and have fun. We are certainly have to sign up the entire family as I can’t wait to do it myself.

Jake was unbelievably rude during our visit to Hydrous. From the moment we approached him, it was clear he didn’t want to be bothered. He gave off the kind of attitude like we were wasting his time just by asking simple questions. Even worse, he showed zero enthusiasm when it came to helping my kids. No patience, no effort, like he couldn’t care less. For a place that’s supposed to be family-friendly and fun, he made the whole experience awkward and frustrating. If this is how they treat paying customers, especially families with kids, I won’t be coming back anytime soon.

The staff at this place are extremely helpful, extremely knowledgeable, and extremely friendly. This was my kids first time wakeboarding. The coach, Aaron, did a fabulous job. Aaron's knowledge was very helpful. Aaron has a lot of experience with children, and I recommend him to all children. The staff inside the facility is tremendous. Everyone was well-versed in wakeboarding. I grew up wakeboarding, and I was very surprised to find this place in Texas.
