What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the aquatic center are highly polarized. The staff consistently receives strong praise for being amazing, kind, courteous, friendly, and accommodating, especially for families with special needs. However, management, frequently personified by 'Greg,' is overwhelmingly criticized. Major complaints include a severe lack of communication, unreturned calls, changed phone lines, and unavailability, making it impossible to book parties, inquire about services, or resolve issues. Patrons also express extreme frustration with inconvenient scheduling (e.g., family swim times during working hours, cancellation of private lessons), frequent and unannounced facility closures, non-functional alert systems, and unaddressed maintenance problems like broken showers. Several reviews cite a lack of accountability and report issues such as unrefunded payments for cancelled lessons, leading to accusations of theft and threats of legal action. Despite the pool itself being described as nice, many feel the facility's potential is severely undermined by poor management practices.

The staff is absolutely amazing. These young men and women are wonderful at their jobs. The staff is kind, courteous and most importantly ACCOMMODATING. As the parent of a special needs child, it is rare to find a place where we feel comfortable. Why 2 stars then? The management. The elusive "greg". I understand schedules change, but to move FAMILY SWIM to NOON on a FRIDAY ? How are families supposed to attend when parents are working???? Really? You ended private swim lessons (my special needs child cant to group) and now you make family swim time nearly impossible to attend. Not acceptable
I wanted to book a party. Could never get in contact with the manager. I did go up to the pool when mngt said they'd be there. There was a young man at the desk but he didn’t know anything about parties. I left a note with him for the manager to contact me. I’ve been trying to call the aquatic center and apparently all the lines have changed. I called the school and the lady that answered refused to give me the direct number to the aquatic center but said she email him. Again never any response back. I cancelled my bday party that my 5 year old was looking forward too. Pool looked nice Management needs major training in communication skills.
one day a month on a friday from noon to 3 ....really?! Almost 10k in taxes for the year and one day a month when most people are working; the city needs to look into making some changes as i have lived in other cities, payed less in property tax and had a pool to take my kids pretty much whenever i wanted too, especially on the weekends. Citizens of New baltimore deserve better, especially what we pay in taxes. i say either make the change in schedule to make it more accessible to families or fire who is reaponsible for running this place and make the change. will be going to city council meetings soon!
Nice pool WHEN ITS OPEN! Nice, friendly staff. Management needs improvement or retraining. The main problem is terrible communication. It’s VERY easy to arrive at the pool to find it closed. While the Anchor Bay Aquatic Center (ABAC) has a text system to provide alerts when it shuts down (lately due to no staffing) but it doesn’t work. I have a 25-mile round trip drive to the pool. Arriving and finding the pool closed after this drive is very frustrating. Management CAN and SHOULD do something to alert swimmers not to waste their time and gas! Other issues include showers that are ALWAYS in need of repair, phones that are rarely answered and basic management inattention to detail. The ABAC could be a gem if managed correctly.
This center canceled my children's lessons and then never refunded my money for 3 children!!! They never call back and the manager Greg never is there or available. No one knows what to do and no one is accountable for anything! This is the worst aquatic center I've ever seen!!! They are thieves and should be reported!!! I will be filing a civil suit against this place!!!!! I've given them over 6 months to refund my money and call me back. They are liars and thieves!! Never go here!! Negative 5 stars!!!
