Public swimming pool that's good for kids.
As a public outdoor facility, the Agnes Moffitt Swimming Pool is generally unheated. Its water temperature naturally fluctuates with the prevailing ambient weather conditions in Houston. Specific, regularly published temperature readings are not typically provided, but the water is usually cool and refreshing, reflecting the natural outdoor temperature during its operational season.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the pool are predominantly negative, with several significant issues overshadowing a few positive points. While some visitors praised the pool's cleanliness, sparkling water, the addition of a lap lane, and the attentiveness of some lifeguards, many others reported extremely negative experiences. Frequent complaints include rude, petty, and inattentive lifeguards who are often on their phones, excessively strict about minor rules (e.g., sunscreen, ladder use), or take lengthy group breaks. Entrance staff were also criticized for being unhelpful and distracted by their phones. Further issues include limited operating hours (often only 5 hours a day), frequent unannounced closures despite online information, lack of phone responsiveness, and occasional concerns about the pool's cleanliness (green water, bad smell). Many reviewers explicitly stated they would not recommend the pool, even though it is free, due to these unpleasant experiences.

I just wanted everyone to know that the pool now has a separate lap lane that was recently installed for those who wish to swim for exercise uninterrupted. And I would like to give all of the lifeguards a 5 star review for being so nice and attentive to my needs. And they kept the facility clean and the water was always sparkling.
The actual pool was nice and there's a lifeguard to watch the kids but I took off two stars due to the two entrance/ registration staff being on their phones, having a condescending attitude and didn't bother getting up from her phone to help us get in the gate.
Pool seems clean. Lifeguards are rude, petty, and ridiculous. One was even commenting on my child’s sunscreen not being rubbed in enough. They even police the way you use the ladder to enter the pool. The most unpleasant experience I’ve ever had at a pool. The only positive thing is that it’s free. Go somewhere else if you can.
No one answers the phone. I have been there three times this summer and only once was it open. Just drove down there again today after looking at the Google website and it says they are open but the pool is green and closed.
Park was ok but the pool and the life guards are ridiculous. The pools smells, it's only open to the public for 5 hours a day, of those 5 hours the guards take away 50mins to have a break, which only 1 of the 6 or 7 of them are actually on duty each time and they are rude. They do a lot of selective whistling as well. They are either on their phones or swimming, except for the ONE on guard, so why do they ALL need a break? They are supposed to break each other. I don't care about the pool being free, I would not recommend this pool to anyone. No noodles or floaties (not even for babies) are allowed.
