The Pool at the Plaza & Pickleball, located at the Plaza Hotel & Casino in downtown Las Vegas, is a 70,000 sq ft adults-only (21+) deck on the third floor. It features a spacious pool, large hot tub, cabanas, daybeds, and a significant pickleball complex with 12 courts. Guests can also enjoy a food truck, full bar, and outdoor gaming, making it a comprehensive recreation and leisure destination.
The main pool is heated, though a specific temperature is not consistently advertised. The hot tub is maintained at a comfortable, elevated temperature.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Plaza receives mixed reviews, with its pool and general amenities garnering significant praise, while its pickleball facilities and certain aspects of customer service, particularly sales, face strong criticism. Guests commend the pool area for being uncrowded and quiet, with helpful staff, clean washrooms, comfortable shaded lounge chairs, and good smoking areas. Clean towels are consistently provided, and options like day beds and cabanas are available (though requiring reservations). The pickleball courts are appreciated for their great views and music, with Crystal at the front desk specifically highlighted for her exceptional service. Conversely, several issues were reported regarding the pickleball experience, including widespread disorganization with court reservations, leading to unfulfilled bookings for multiple parties. One reviewer described a rude instructor, a lack of wind screens making courts windy, no seating by the courts, and an inadequate front desk/shop. Another highly skilled player detailed a 'complete shambles' in round-robin sessions due to severe skill mismatches, where advanced players were mixed with beginners and beginner sessions were diluted with absolute novices. Aggressive play and a lack of drinking water were also cited. Furthermore, a serious complaint involved a sales representative, Monique, who allegedly canceled a written offer for an event and rooms shortly after a meeting, with the customer suspecting discrimination and poor communication, advising others not to spend money at The Plaza. Other minor points include high drink prices (though considered worth it by some) and a food truck not always being fully prepared.

We love the pool at the plaza!! It’s never crowded or loud. The staff are helpful and go out of their way to help all the guests. We have ordered drinks and used the white lounge chairs at one visit- with the shaded spot it was perfect to lounge at on a very hot day. The washrooms at every clean. Price of drinks are a bit high but worth it. The smoking areas are off to the side which makes sitting around others great. The good truck was not prepared to serve fries but ready to serve other items st 11am. The hot tub was full of guests but in past visits was perfect to unwind in. The towels were clean and handed to us when we walked in. They have day beds that look very comfortable but along with the cabana needs to be reserved Our next visit we will reserve a cabana and will update and include pictures.
These guys are so disorganized. Our party made a reservation for 3 courts, showed up and they had nothing booked for us. Another party showed up at the same time and same thing. Whatever reservation system they use is terrible. The instructor gal was rude when I pressed about the reservation. Pros: -Plenty of courts, 16 permanent courts -Roof top /pool vibes -classes and drop in play Cons: -Front desk and shop are lacking. -No wind screens, courts get super windy being up high -No seating by the courts
The pickleball courts are amazing with a great view and music to play to. Crystal at the front is absolutely the best! Sweetest service and always look forward to seeing her give that woman a raise!
I have to say that we were all disappointed with our visit. I'm a 4.0 player and signed up for advanced round robin on a Friday evening. They put 8 regulars (all known by first name) in one group which played some great pickleball, and the rest of us in another. This was confirmed by one of the players as "happening every week". There was one player with any good skills, five that were average and I'm afraid, one that should not have been allowed to play. She was nearly in tears. I had to pay down several levels to accommodate these players and the one good player played so aggressively, like it was a big tournament. He body bagged me twice when my partner kept popping the ball up. Got six awful games and there was no play afterwards. My two daughters have been playing for over 2 years and were put in the beginner session. They were happy to be classed as beginners, but they played with people who had NEVER played a single game before. They spent the evening either teaching these people or watching them fail miserably at the game. The drinking water ran out as well. Overall it was a complete shambles, a total waste of time, and we shan't ever return.
Do NOT work with Monique in”sales” she will provide a written offer for your desired dates, event and rooms. After making lights, spending money on room, meals etc she canceled the offer within minutes of meeting with her. Discrimination-? . She spun the cancellation on the customer stating it was a holiday (Cinco de Mayo) and the Plaza had previously booked ALL the desired rooms prior to making the typewritten offer that was presented to the customer. No other offer was made and she stated she could not do anything about it. If you would like to see the offer in print and question please reach out and I can provide. DO NOT Spend your MONEY at the PLAZA. She will claim she’s new and not her fault. THIS is unacceptable! We will NOT drop another dime here ever and will continue to spread the word!
