Gym with a swimming pool, an indoor track and a sauna.
The Blaisdell YMCA features a Lap Pool, which is typically maintained at a cooler temperature ideal for swimming laps and aquatic exercise (generally 79-82°F or 26-28°C), and a Warm Water Pool, designed for therapy, lessons, and recreational use, which is kept at a higher, more comfortable temperature (often 88-92°F or 31-33°C). Exact daily temperatures are not explicitly published online.

Really poor a/c upstairs in summer. Especially when the ceiling fans are not running and a request to front desk results in no action. And super annoying when you check the online schedule, show up to swim but the pool is closed and no sign at the desk. It's getting as bad as the YWCA.
Love this gym! Staff is really friendly, the pool is big, lots of different classes.
The facility overall is mediocre at best and in need of attention. One of the more concerning issues is the noticeable fly/bug problem near the shower areas, which is both unpleasant and unsanitary. Additionally, the bathrooms and showers feel outdated and could use renovations to meet modern standards of cleanliness and comfort. Another frustration is that the pool closes randomly without warning, disrupting the experience for members who rely on it. On top of that, the swimming lessons often dominate the pool space, making it difficult to enjoy a proper swim. For the price members pay, the facility should offer a much cleaner, more reliable, and well-maintained experience. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and prioritizes the necessary improvements.
I am following up on a review I wrote seven months ago. I have not been able to cancel my membership with YMCA. I have tried two times and each time they tell me its cancelled, and then bill more for subsequent months. Its been almost a year since I cancelled, and I am now receiving notices that my account is seven months past due. When I called them they said that bill was in a former system of theirs and now its "out of their hands" because they don't have access to it. At this point, I'm worried the YMCA is going to charge me forever, not provide me the proper documentation, and I will just be stuck paying for a membership I didn't want.
YMCA and see to be good quality but it’s going downhill, been a member for almost 10 years. They’re closing the child care center, pool is always short staffed, and not the best machines nor enough space for weights. They need to hire more lifeguards for the pool. It’s ridiculous having so many people and only have one lifeguard at a time. So many kids who don’t listen to any rules and with no parents. Unreliable pool schedules if you’re trying to use the sauna. Makes the Y experience awful. I’m sorry! If they know they’ll have high volume, then act accordingly 🤦 But the front desk staff is always greets everyone who walk in. YMCA as corporate needs to do better
