Free, kid-friendly pool with a lap swimming area and a playground.
The water temperature at Webber Natural Swimming Pool is not artificially heated and therefore varies naturally with the ambient weather conditions. It tends to fluctuate throughout the swimming season, generally reflecting the temperature of a natural lake and often described as refreshing or brisk.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? This large, biofiltered public pool offers a unique swimming experience without chemicals, making it suitable for chemically sensitive individuals. It features a zero-depth entry popular with families, lap lines for workouts, and ample space for lounging, surrounded by natural greenery. Many praise its free entry, uncrowded atmosphere even on hot days, and welcoming vibe. However, some common observations include the initial slickness of the zero-depth tile entry, and the natural filtration results in water that is not clear, appearing dark or green, which can make flip turns challenging for lap swimmers. Facilities are basic, with an open area for drying/rinsing rather than a dedicated changing room, and visitors should bring their own lock for lockers. Despite the water clarity, the pool is highly recommended for its unique natural design and diverse appeal for families, lap swimmers, and those seeking a relaxing swim.

HOLD THE RAILING WHEN ENTERING THE WATER. The first few of the zero-depth portions of the pool are very slick because they are tile. We had a great time. This pool is large and nice. We really appreciated the zero-depth entry for the kids. The pool is surrounded by beautiful greenery, flowers, and native plants.
Truly one of the best swims I've had in months! Amazing fresh water pool with lap lines for swimming. Lots of space to spread out and lay down a blanket. I went around 1pm on a hot Thursday and the pool wasn't crowded at all. Would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting a workout, families with young kids, or just someone looking to lounge in the beautiful Minneapolis summer.
I was in town for a couple days, looking for a place to swim laps. I feel really lucky that I found this pool. For others looking to swim laps, here are some things to note: * It's free * I'm not sure the distance of the pool, but it seems about 25 yards, maybe a little less. * The water isn't clear, it's a bit dark / green from how the pool is more natural. This is fine, but FYI. * Flip turns can be tough because it's hard to see the wall (the bottom of the pool has a lane stripe but it's obscured / faded, and the wall has no marking). So you may need to just do a non-fip-turn or get a feel for it at first. * Bring your own lock for the lockers, or just put your stuff near the pool, as others seem to do. * I was there at 6pm on two weekend days, and both times had no problem getting a lane to myself. * There are lots of guards and a happy crowd of families. The vibe is very collegial and welcoming. * There are some rules about not wearing cotton or bringing in bottles etc. Just be aware. * There is no changing area, just a bathroom and then more of an open area for drying off and rinsing with a shower. * Lots of good bike lanes leading to it, and ample parking on-street or in the nearby lot. Enjoy!
The water is very dirty, I know it's free but what about the health? It would be much better if it was clean because even a frog swam with me 🤡.
The only biofiltered public pool in North America. Fewer maintenance issues and offline days than a standard pool. No chemicals required so that chemically sensitive people can swim safely.
