What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews present a mixed picture, historically marked by significant dissatisfaction but showing considerable improvement under new management. Past issues frequently cited include pervasive poor maintenance (e.g., unrepaired damage, non-functional laundry for over a year, overflowing trash), unresponsive management, prolonged delays or non-payment of security deposits, parking incidents, and concerns about older buildings and safety. Some residents also noted unexpected rent hikes and mandatory payment app fees. However, recent aesthetic upgrades have been noted, and there's widespread praise for the new property manager, Danielle. She is lauded for her professionalism, empathy, attentiveness, and proactive communication, particularly in addressing past grievances and fostering a more positive, trustworthy community. Current residents appreciate the improved responsiveness of maintenance and feel a renewed sense of care, though some long-standing issues, like past security deposit returns, are still being actively addressed.

The following was condensed using AI for clarity; Summary: “You get what you pay for." While recent aesthetic upgrades improved curb appeal, many issues persist: Poor maintenance- Unrepaired damage (bathroom ceiling/door holes, broken stove burner), overflowing outdoor trash, and non-functional laundry (14+ months in my building). Unreliable management– Ignored repair requests, delayed security deposit return (still owed mine after 2 months). Parking lot incident– Contractor illegally moved/tampered with my vehicle during resurfacing. Older buildings– Interior disrepair and declining structural integrity. Verdict: Only consider if financially constrained or facing homelessness. Inspect thoroughly before renting. (Moved out June 2025; deposit still unpaid as of August 2025.) —Edited to add the following: The new property manager Danielle (new as in just a few weeks into the role) contacted me to apologize for the litany of issues I documented and for the delay with the deposit check’s arrival. She assured me it would get handled in a timely manner. Her reaching out to me was truly the most communication I’ve ever received from the property. Do with that info what you will, but she seemed to clearly care about righting past wrongs on this property. Time will tell, but I did appreciate her reaching out to me personally and apologizing for things that weren’t even her fault.
I’m a current resident and I just absolutely love the management team at The Grove Brentwood! Daniele Walker went above and beyond to help me get my stuff moved and made sure I was good to go. The maintenance guys are the best, I have had to call them a couple of times and they’re always there to help me out.
I have been here for nearly two years. I've seen many people come and go—both residents and staff. I remember when the sign out front used to say "Bradford Woods Apartments". I remember the first time I saw its streets and the wilderness that surrounds it. I remember the first time I saw the geese fly in for the spring to have their young. I remember when I got the call that I had been approved for my first lease here. It had been several years of rejections, excuses, and attitudes from complexes all over Nashville and all over Tennessee. I remember what that felt like. That phone call. That finally. Finally, someone decided to give me a chance. This place has had its growing pains. From ambition and a search for stability. I understood that. Most of my life, I had felt that way. But sometimes all it takes to make a difference in a community is one person. Danielle, the apartment manager, has been that person. She is professional, attentive, empathetic, and accommodating. Every time I go into the front office, I see her working herself to the bone. She sees the good in people, and I see that she cares. Because of her, for the first time in my life, I am content with where I live. A home is not simply a commodity that can be bought, sold, traded, or sipped on like a little espresso. It is our livelihood, and to lose it or have it corrupted or taken away might as well be a death sentence in a city as unforgiving as this one. And it should be treated as such. With respect. With authenticity. That is what has changed. Respect. Danielle gives this community respect. That is how you get people to stay here. That is how you build trust in a community. That is why I enjoy living here.
The only way to get a call back from this location is to leave a negative review. My emails have been ignored as have my phone calls. You’ve failed to follow up with me regarding my deposit. Truthfully you likely just didn’t update my forwarding address which is totally understandable … but since you won’t take my calls or answer my voicemails I guess we’ll just keep leaving negative reviews until you get back with me. Happy to keep providing reviews based on my experiences with you. Trash management and dirty facilities. Incompetent staff through and through.
Welcoming place but rent has gone up twice in my 8-9 months here! And being forced to use this app to pay that charges extra fees when we are forced to use it! Oh and the app raises your rent from what it actually is and charges an additional membership fee each month! No portal since being bought by the grove which means I have to call or hope they finally check an email to fix things or answer questions! And have been waiting on some requests since moving in! I waited 6 months for them to fix my sliding doors that were broken prior to move in knowing I had a 2 year old living there! And the laundry facilities have been broken the entire time I’ve been here so can’t even use those! And they haven’t cut rent down because of it. Constantly feeling unsafe here too but can’t simply move out yet. Always trash laying around from broken bottles and cans all the way to full on trash bags! If anybody is considering moving here I’d certainly think about it before committing! The lower reviews are completely true.
