I didn't actually go to the center for any of their activities and didn't know they had a pool until leaving much later in the day. However, I do go there for a guided tour of the Weir, a part of the Croton Reservoir System. The operators of the tour have a small museum located inside the community center. What I did see of the community center aside from the museum was an active part of the community that provided space for a wide range of people to use of all ages. There was an adolescent class of self defense taking place not too far from where I was at the museum and on the lower level there was a private party about to start around 1pm or so.. this is a place I would love to go if I lived in the community.
We love the recreation center! My boys are both taking swim lessons here and they love it. The staff is great with the kids, the classes are small and I am amazed at how quickly they are gaining confidence and skills in the water.
Can't even begin to explain how surprisingly wonderful the experience has been so far at the ossining rec center, my 4 yrs old is so excited to go swimming and following the instructions they're giving him, also, the kindness and care of the instructors is unbelievable. Kudos to the staff!
