About

Family-friendly aquatic center with lap lanes, a diving board, and kiddie pools.

Specific pool temperatures for Veterans Memorial Park Pool are not consistently published or readily available through general public sources. Public pools typically maintain comfortable swimming temperatures, which can vary based on facility management and daily conditions.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews for the pool are mixed. Positive aspects include an amazing and clean pool, attentive lifeguards who take their job seriously, and good amenities like a dedicated kids' pool, shaded areas, vending machines, free cold water, and sunscreen. It is also noted as being affordable for residents. However, significant negative feedback centers on staff behavior, described as rude, inconsistent, and sometimes prejudicial. Specific complaints include arbitrary pool closures (e.g., for thunder on clear days) followed by reopenings, with staff pressuring patrons to leave rudely. There are also issues with an obsolete fee schedule, undisclosed new policies, and a highly restrictive non-resident policy that prevents entry even when willing to pay a higher fee, with one staff member suggesting finding a resident sponsor. Other concerns mentioned are crowded conditions and annoying rules regarding floaties.

Amazing pool, and I love how these young lifeguards take their job seriously and ask everyone to follow the rules. Clean environment, little crowded when we went there. Overall, we enjoyed.

It was our first time here a friend of ours recommended it, we arrived at 3 and literally 20 minutes in they started yelling the pool was closed because of thunder, mind you it was 90 degrees no clouds, looking at the weather app there was a storm around 7, we understood that the policy of no refunds but different people of the staff said they would wait 30 min to see if they would open; the ladies working there yelled at my wife to hurry up and change ; mind you we were taking turns changing since we had a toddler, staff started pressuring very rudely to leave, after an hour later my friend stayed by the playground to see people being able to go back in, so why would your staff push people away rudely to just open an hour later.

sign for fee schedule is obsolete and the staff didn’t feel sorry about the undisclosed new policy and was extremely rude and prejudicial. Yes I’m talking about that one young female staff. I understand you need to charge a higher fee for non- resident and we accept that since the residents pick up the taxes for the pool. However, I don’t understand why non-resident can’t use the facility even when they want to pay an obviously higher price. The lady suggested we grab somebody at the parking lot then let the stranger who is a resident sponsor us to come in use the facility. What’s the purpose of it, let that one local resident to be the judge? and represent the interest of all taxpayers in Hempstead NY? Or just formalism? When I told her”This is so weird.” She confronted with the half ass attitude “this is not weird, and have a nice rest of your day.” I definitely know she can’t represent all residents of this place. So taxpayers, if you live here, do what you can to make sure your tax dollars doesn’t go to the salary of such government employees. Because one day, your relative and friend might come to visit and stay at your home for a few days, and they can’t go use the nearest pool unless you drop everything and take them there.

Small pool for the kids, shaded area with seats, vending machines, free cold water stations to fill up your bottles, free sun screen, diving board. Pizza and 7/11 just 5 minute walk. Life guards to watch the kiddies. I drive from Brooklyn to come out here for a nice day with the baby.

Extremely annoying rules about Floaties only reason I would recommend this because if you’re a resident you can come in for fairly cheap staff was good but kid friendly I would say it’s severely lacking
