Clean public pool featuring Olympic-sized space, swim meets and an indoor hot tub.
The main 50-meter competition pool at the Nassau County Aquatic Center is typically maintained at approximately 79-80°F (26-27°C). The instructional or warm-up pool is generally kept warmer, usually around 82-84°F (28-29°C), to accommodate lessons and therapy.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Nassau County Aquatic Center is highly regarded as a beautiful, well-equipped, and well-maintained facility, particularly for swimming and competitions, with many users praising the cleanliness of the pools and the helpfulness and professionalism of the staff. Amenities like a fitness center/gym, food/snack bar, and ample parking are also appreciated. However, there are a few notable areas for improvement: spectator seating could be cleaner and general seating could be better. More significantly, there are concerns about the male locker room regarding older men walking unclothed in front of children, with suggestions for clear signage and potential oversight. The gym also faces issues, including the need for a full-time monitor to enforce common courtesy rules regarding noise, equipment use, attire, and cleanliness, which some users feel detracts from an otherwise excellent experience.

I swim there all the time. Also on the upper level there is food and a fitness center. Seating isn’t bad but could be a little better. I’d recommend going there
The Nassau County Aquatic Center is a beautiful facility, very well equipped, and maintained to a high standard. The staff is consistently polite, professional, and helpful, which makes visiting a pleasant experience. However, I would like to raise a serious concern regarding the male locker room. On several occasions, I have observed older men walking from the showers to the lockers and restroom completely unclothed, even when there are many children present who also use this locker room. This behavior is inappropriate and, in certain contexts, may be unlawful. I believe it would be in the best interest of all visitors—especially families with children—for management to address this matter promptly. A simple but effective measure would be to post clear signage in the locker room stating that towels must be used when moving through shared areas and reminding patrons that adults should not be fully undressed in front of minors. It might also be worth considering a visit from relevant oversight bodies—such as consumer protection or child safety organizations—to ensure best practices are in place. I hope this issue can be resolved as soon as possible, as it will make the center even more welcoming for everyone.
The desk staff is wonderful. Been using the pool for 25 years and is great. Pool is clean and used by serious swimmers (not the hacks at Echo). The gym is a good deal. BUT the gym needs a full time monitor to ensure member safety and basic common courtesy: -make sure all lights stay on -make sure people talk in a normal tone; and not over the music playing on ones earbuds -members should not be fiddling with the lights and gym radio or other gym items -members should not be blaring their own music from their own bluetooth speaker -members should keep shirts on -members should clean equipment after use If not for the gym it would get 5 stars. This is a common sense critique. Thank you.
Huge competition pools. Easy parking. Clean and friendly.
Very nice place for swimming competitions. Pool is very nice and well maintained. It needs a little more attention / cleaning in the area where spectators sit. There are plenty of parking spots, the restroom is pretty clean, and there is a snack bar. Staff is very friendly.
