What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for this campground are mixed, with many patrons expressing strong positive sentiments, calling it their favorite, praising its beauty, peacefulness, river access, and accommodating staff (like Joe who helped with an AC issue). It's highlighted as a great place for families, offering an intimate setting with a pool, nature trails, and opportunities for kids to play outdoors without electronics, reminiscent of simpler times. It's also noted for its good price and suitability for events like the hot air balloon festival. However, a significant recent negative review indicates a decline in quality, citing staff carelessness (on phones, not engaging with kids), possessive pool staff, dirty bathrooms with bugs and bee stings, the discontinuation of specialty camps and busing services, and an overall feeling that the camp has 'cheaped out' over the years, leading to a strong recommendation against returning unless significant changes are made.

My favorite campground. I stay here every chance I get. Beautiful, scenic, peaceful. Joe was incredibly accommodating and helpful when my AC broke in 100° weather and came over to try and offer some solutions. Excellent customer service. Thank you.
Great quiet little campground on the river. My family and 2 others were in a bind for a night and needed somewhere to stay. We booked the night before around 10pm and we were able to get 3 sites next to each other since it was 9/10/22 which I’m sure is the off-season. We will definitely be back and you can’t beat the price.
We love camping here. It's a more intimate campground with a great pool, the river and nature trails. We love to camp there during the hot air balloon festival!
My three boys love spending weeks of their their summer here. No electronics, outside playing with other kids, Swimming, running in the woods, enjoying the special things they bring in. It reminds me of growing up in the '80s and '90s. A simpler time most of them don't get to experience anymore.
As a camper at this camp for many years, I plan on not returning. Staff have been getting more and more care-free about their jobs, most of the time on their phones not doing activities with the kids. As well as pool staff making it seem they own that pool space. Bathrooms have seen better days, mostly dirty bathrooms filled with bugs and even kids being stung by bees in the bathroom. Specialty Camps are not at this camp anymore and busing was 86'ed, which was great for many parents. Overall, the camp has cheeped out over the years and it shows. I hope to never return to this camp and plan on never returning. Unless some things change. This only deserves 1 star.
