I took my daughter and a couple of her friends to CoCo Key Resort for her 10th birthday this weekend, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish! The staff was welcoming and friendly, and the water park was perfect for all ages. She had an amazing time on the slides and in the pools, she’s a water bug and it made her birthday so special. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the resort had a fun, family-friendly atmosphere throughout. Everything was well-kept and organized, which made it easy to just relax and enjoy the weekend. My daughter is still talking about how much fun she had, and I’m so glad we chose CoCo Key to celebrate her big day. We’ll definitely be returning in the future!
Mixed Experience – Good Water Park, But very Disappointing Hotel Stay If we had only come for the water park, this review would be much more positive. The park itself is nicely designed, and we really appreciated that a generous portion of it is under a covered area—great for Florida weather. However, we chose to stay at the hotel as well, and unfortunately, that decision negatively impacted our overall experience. The room was very clean, but it had a strong and unpleasant odor, similar to a sulfur or “fart” smell. The mattress was clearly old and uncomfortable—every move caused loud creaking, and when my husband shifted, the bed dipped so much it pulled me down too. The pillows were thin, hard, and provided no support. I woke up with neck and back pain from how uncomfortable everything was. To make things worse, we were woken up at 12:30 a.m. by two staff members having a very loud conversation right outside our room. I called guest services for assistance, but no one answered, which was concerning—what if it had been an emergency? I ended up opening the door and politely letting them know I could hear them. One of them did apologize, and they left, but by then, the night was already ruined. Another frustrating detail: the water park doesn’t open until the same time you’re required to check out, which is incoherent. If guests are paying to stay in the hotel for the purpose of enjoying the park, early access should be offered. The silver lining was that I called to express my concerns in the morning, and the person I spoke with was very understanding. She granted us a late checkout so we could still enjoy the park for a little while, which I really appreciated. Aside from the two staff members who disrupted the night and whoever failed to answer the phone, the rest of the staff was excellent. The lifeguards were focused and took their responsibilities seriously. Sandra, who works in breakfast and maintenance, was kind and attentive, and the front desk associate who assisted with the late checkout was professional and empathetic. This place has so much potential. The water park is fun and well laid out, and the hotel has a smart structure—but updates are urgently needed. The beds, mattresses, and pillows should be replaced, and the pool surfaces are rough and could use refinishing. We won’t return to the hotel, but we might visit the water park again. With a few key improvements, this could be a fantastic destination.
After reading some of the reviews before our trip, I was a little worried and even considered switching hotels. However, I was pleasantly surprised! Our room was spotless, yes a little outdate but it looked and smelled clean, and the bed was fresh and comfortable. I think we may have been given an upgraded room, as it was right by the pool on the ground floor, which was a lovely touch. The staff and service were excellent throughout our stay. A special mention goes to Sandra at the buffet breakfast — she was so sweet, polite, and friendly. She went out of her way to make us feel comfortable, and her service really stood out. The outdoor water resort was fantastic — my daughter absolutely loved it, and it made the trip even more enjoyable. On the downside, the food at the hotel was quite expensive, and while the location was good overall, it was a bit of a journey to get to Disney World. There was a shuttle bus available to Universal, but unfortunately not directly to Disney. Overall, we had a wonderful stay, far better than I expected from some of the reviews I’d read. Clean rooms, amazing staff, and great family facilities — I’d definitely recommend it if you’re visiting the area.
If you are looking for a relaxed, no drama, family resort with a water park, drinks, and food all in one spot, this is it. Everything on the resort property is easily accessible. Front desk staff is extremely kind, and thoughtful, it was my birthday, and they made it very accommodating. The water park is very nice, slides, pools, and open space for families to relax, and not be on top of each other. rooms are what they are, some Outdated, some newer, and they weren’t the best rooms I’ve stayed in, but very very clean rooms. I would return to this resort because of the price, convenience, and how close everything is around it. Chuck E Cheese is right across the street it rains, they also offer valet parking, which is cool. Will return, satisfied guest.
The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and welcoming, and our kids truly had a great time during our stay. However, I did want to share some concerns regarding the condition of our room. We booked a King room with a pull-out sofa to accommodate four guests. Unfortunately, the pull-out bed was extremely small—barely enough space for our two children. When my daughter laid on it, she began to sink through the frame, which turned out to be rusted and unstable. The mattress also had visible black mold on the underside, which was alarming. I brought this to the front desk’s attention, and to their credit, someone promptly came to replace a few of the springs and provided a new mattress. While we appreciated their quick response, the overall condition of the bed frame remained a serious safety concern due to the extensive rust. Additionally, the bathtub wouldn’t drain properly. Maintenance did come by, but the solution was to simply remove the stopper, which meant we could no longer give the kids a bath—only showers. The front desk associate mentioned he would escalate the issue to management to make it right, but we never heard anything back. While the staff’s kindness was a highlight of our visit, we were disappointed by the room’s condition and lack of follow-up, especially when traveling with children.
