Public swimming pool with diving boards that offers entertainment options.
Specific pool temperatures for Towamencin Municipal Swimming are not typically published, as it is an outdoor facility whose water temperature is largely influenced by ambient weather conditions during its operational season.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The pool is generally seen as a great, uncrowded option for families and visitors, offering day passes, multiple pools (including a baby pool, shallow play pool, and deep diving pool), and attentive lifeguards. Patrons appreciate the ability to bring their own snacks and the reasonably priced snack bar. Recent seasons have seen improved management, with specific praise for proactive managers like Matt Potts who ensure safety during busy times, such as when multiple camps are present. Swim lessons are also noted positively for small class sizes. However, a recent review criticizes the current management as unfriendly, unwelcoming, and unprofessional, citing instances of cussing and staff disagreements over pool hours, which negatively impacted the experience for long-time residents. It's recommended to bring personal chairs as picnic tables can be taken up by camps.

We are visiting from out of town and it’s impossible to find a public pool option that doesn’t require a membership so this is a great find. $20/ person for a day pass. Had plenty of lifeguards and a reasonably priced snack stand. Smart patrons bring camp chairs to sit on. There are picnic tables scattered about, though a camp during the day takes up a majority of them. Would recommend if you’re looking for a place to cool down. As others have said, rarely full, even on the weekend.
Great local, no-frills, chill type of pool that’s rarely crowded! Pretty surrounding area w/ plenty of grass areas, playground and large pavilion with tables. Has 3 different pools: baby pool, shallow pool w/water slide, volleyball net, basketball net, mushroom and cups, and larger deeper pool with 2 diving boards (this pool is further away from kids’ pools). Lowkey snack bar. You can still bring your own personal snacks and lunchboxes. The pool went through a rough patch a few years back during Covid and management changes, but the two managers now in charge are fantastic and things are great again here the last couple seasons! *Bring your own chairs
Good family pool with attentive lifeguards and a snack stand!
I recently joined this pool for my kids (7 and 4) and have been happy with my experience so far. When I asked for membership advice on a Facebook Moms group, no one had any advice to offer on memberships which lead me to believe it may not be that busy. I hear a lot of other Gwynedd Square families use Nor Gwyn since a lot of kids live on the other side of Valley Forge. We considered a NG membership, but now I’m happy they were already full. There was a lot of negative comments from the year the H pool is closed, but I made sure it was operational this year before signing up this season. I am someone who is fully in the water with kids the entire time (3 foot pool), but it is a relief the lifeguards are always paying attention in the event of an emergency. My daughter has had a positive time during her swim lessons through Uswim at Towamencin Pool. Since I am working at that time, my mom takes her to her lessons and said I made a good decision signing her up at the Towamencin location. My daughter’s swim group for her level is only 3 kids, which makes me feel better than it being a large class size when I am not available to take her myself. Now here is the most important part: Last Friday, I was able to take my kids very close to the open time at noon. A camp was arriving at the same time, which is normal because I have seen camps there most weekdays. Then, a second camp arrives. I recognized the manager (from when I was a kid and went to the Lansdale Pool everyday so I knew he must have been part of the staff) surveying the situation and the increase in the number of kids. The pool wasn’t too full at this point. Then, a THIRD camp arrives. The kids start piling into the pool. They all seem like early elementary school ages. The manager (who I now know is named Matt Potts after telling a few people this story) is paying attention to this additional arrival and then gets his lifeguard float and comes in the pool to help be an extra set of eyes. He stays in, focused on the crowd of kids, until the camps leave and the pool is back to the normal amount of people. As a parent, I was extra worried about the significant number of kids being watched by a few camp counselors per camp. I appreciate that management was aware of the influx of children using that pool and was proactive in the extra guarding of an already staffed pool. Looking forward to a memorable summer with my kids going here.
The pools and the facility are pretty good. I am a towamencin resident have been coming to the pool since the 90s.. This Summer a great disappointment. The management is the worst I have seen. Unfriendly and unwelcoming. The only adult I have seen in charge cussing profusely and offensively in front of the customers as I exited the pool one day. Another it was one of the young members of the staff. She and her staff even in disagreement about the pool hours which do not even agree with those posted in the web site. They constantly give the impression that working there is a hardship and can’t wait to get out and the season to be over. Their attitude takes away the pleasure and relaxation of the pool. Please examine your management choices next year.
