The Ann Barshop Natatorium, located at 4301 Broadway, San Antonio, TX, is a state-of-the-art aquatic facility at the University of the Incarnate Word. It features an Olympic-size competition pool and a dive well, serving as home to UIW's swimming and diving teams, and hosting various collegiate, community, and instructional aquatic programs.
The main competition pool generally maintains a temperature of 78-80°F (25.5-26.6°C). A separate teaching pool is kept warmer, typically between 82-84°F (27.7-28.8°C).
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviewers generally praise the quality of the pools, including a full-size Olympic pool, and commend the performance of the UIW diving and swimming teams. However, common complaints focus on the facility's small size, particularly the limited seating/bleachers which leads to standing-room-only conditions during larger events. Many also note that the indoor area is hot, humid, and lacks adequate air circulation, prompting suggestions for spectators to wait outside. Despite these issues, it is often considered an adequate training facility for a small college.

Nice facility! Little small once you walk upstairs to the pool but it's a full size olympic pool with limited bleachers for seating. It's humid so if you're not swimming, you may be better off exploring the beautiful campus grounds while waiting.
Good training facility. Beautiful views. Thank you to Streamline Aquatics for allowing my son to practice with the team.
The accommodations are less than ideal, The air circulation is lacking, yet the spectacle on display is nothing short of extraordinary. The UIW diving team moves with the grace of a swan, their every maneuver a work of art. The swimming team moves through the water with the ferocity of a hounded wolf chasing victory.
Place is small but adequate for a small college. However when there are over 200 athletes for 2024 Tis, it's SRO due to small bleachers. Seating is recommended outside on patio or tailgating in parking lot.
The pools are great. But it's HOT in there and there's NO place to sit. People standing around EVERYWHERE waiting for their child's event(s). Many of them have multiple events! What about the grand parents that come... or others that can't stand for long periods of time?? Shame on you! Get some chairs!
