About

Hurricane Harbor San Antonio, located at 17000 W I-10, San Antonio, TX 78256, USA, is a large water park featuring a variety of thrilling water slides, a massive wave pool, and a relaxing lazy river. As part of the Six Flags Fiesta Texas theme park, it offers a refreshing escape with attractions designed for all ages, from high-octane slides to family-friendly play areas.

While specific, daily pool temperatures for Hurricane Harbor San Antonio are not consistently published, water parks typically maintain their main attractions, such as wave pools and lazy rivers, at a comfortable, often heated, temperature to enhance guest experience. This usually means water temperatures are kept in the low to mid-80s Fahrenheit (approx. 27-30°C), particularly during cooler parts of the operating season.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for Hurricane Harbor present a mixed but largely negative picture. Key complaints revolve around the complex and expensive admission, where guests are charged extra for the water park on top of main park tickets and cannot purchase water park-only entry. Operational issues are frequently cited, including a lack of accessible drinking water, poor quality beverages, and problematic locker payment systems. Significant safety concerns were raised regarding lifeguard training, with one account detailing lifeguards aggressively enforcing a non-existent life vest rule and preventing a child from safely resting. Guests also reported difficulty finding accurate operating hours. Despite these criticisms, some positive feedback highlights the park as an enjoyable destination, with specific praise for rides like 'Free Fall' and its potential for a fun break.

Lack of water to find for purchase. Otherwise you can find soda, that's if you like flat soda with three ice cubes in it on a hot day. Six flags charges you extra to get into hurricane harbor section, above and beyond tickets. Then you have to get a special card to leave section, to get back into section. It's ridiculous. Want a locker, we had to pay twice because first purchase ran out of paper to spit us out a ticket. We then had to use different terminal in a different area of hurricane harbor that did spit you out a ticket. Your ticket tells you your locker #. Without it, well, your out of luck. Next time, we will go to Austin's Texas water park.

Something seriously wrong with the life guard training. My son was just swimming in the wave pool and having fun, but 5 different life guards were screaming at him to put on a life vest. When he needed a break, he was prohibited from hanging on to my body. It's like they wanted him to tire out and drown. The dept of public safety came and the life guard explained to them he refused to use a life vest. Her response was simple, we can't make them wear a life vest. They kept citing a rule on their website, so I looked up the rule. There is no park rule requiring anyone to wear a life vest. It seems that if you encounter a scenario where you need help in the water, you are prohibited from grabbing on to someone. They expect you to refrain from holding on to anything (and tire out and die). These lifeguards must be retrained to actually save lives, not promote drowning.

What happened to six flags?! You can't pay for admission to the water park alone. You pay once you get into the coaster park even if you don't want to ride the coasters. $300 for a family of 4 to go to the water park. Why?!
