Public swimming facility offering 3 pools of varying depths for diving, laps, and family fun.
The 50-meter Olympic-sized competition pool is typically heated to 79-81 degrees Fahrenheit. The separate shallow instructional pool is maintained at a warmer temperature, generally between 88-90 degrees Fahrenheit.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? This facility offers highly effective swimming lessons, with one user achieving comfort in freestyle and treading water within a week. It features a very large outdoor pool, including a separate heated baby/infant pool (1ft to 3.5ft deep), with the main pool starting at 4ft. Criticisms include a restrictive lap-only policy during the day, unclear website information, small and crowded locker rooms lacking lockers, and a $8 day-use fee without senior rates. While Masters Swimming occupies many lanes, individual lap swimmers generally find space. It is located in Heather Park, Walnut Creek.
Reviews
I signed up for swimming lessons after 15 years of not swimming or being in a pool. On the first day, my instructors were able to help me get comfortable being in the water and broke down how to freestyle. By the end of the week, I was able to comfortably swim and tread water. I definitely recommend signing up for lessons if you're interested.
Looks nice but they won’t let us swim since it’s only laps during the day. A bit weird why they can’t dedicate a lane or two to laps and leave the rest open for family swim during the day. Website wasn’t clear either.
Very large outdoor pool with small, crowded locker rooms. I didn't see anyplace to lock up anything, but it doesn't look like a high crime environment. Day use was $8, with no senior rate. Masters Swimming had over half of the pool lanes, but I still had my own lane for laps at 10:30 AM on a Wednesday morning.
Very large outdoor pool in Heather Park, Walnut Creek.
There is a separate heated baby/infant pool that is 1ft at the shallowest and gets about 3.5 ft deep max. The shallowest part of the general pool is about 4ft.
