Recreation center featuring an indoor pool with a splash pad for children plus a playground.
The main 25-yard indoor pool at the Richmond Swim Center is typically heated to approximately 82-83°F (around 28°C). A dedicated therapy pool is maintained at a higher temperature, usually around 90-92°F (around 32-33°C), suitable for rehabilitation and therapeutic use.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The swim center is generally lauded as a beautiful, spacious facility with a large indoor pool featuring a splash pad and shallow areas perfect for toddlers, a smaller outdoor pool, and playgrounds. Many appreciate the warm, clean water (especially after recent renovations, with some noting less chemical smell), heated changing rooms with ample lockers and showers, and clearly marked lanes for different swimming paces. However, a significant and frequent complaint is the difficulty of access, with reports of waitlists for popular sessions, random closures due to "chemical reasons," and surprisingly strict capacity limits. Management issues, such as slow check-in, a need for more professionalism, and better crowd management, are also mentioned, alongside isolated incidents of strict rule enforcement. Despite the positive features, the recurring access problems lead some reviewers to seek alternative facilities.

Super nice local swim center with a large indoor pool with splash pad, smaller outdoor pool and a playground. They have a heated changing room with plenty of lockers and showers. You can choose to leave your stuff in a locker or bring it with you to place it by the pool.
Beautiful swim center — if you can get in. We tried to go today, but there was a waitlist for toddler swim at 10:30am (a half hour after they open). Said they let a max of 15 people in, which surprises me given how big the space is. The last time we tried to go, it was randomly closed for “chemical reasons.” The first and only time we’ve been, it was a nice space with a really shallow area great for toddlers. It was very spacious and we were one of two families there. Unfortunately, we got reprimanded for pulling our portable potty by the bleachers for a toddler pee emergency. It’s a shame because this really is a beautiful space, if you could only get in. We’re 1/3 so far. Albany Aquatic is also indoors and 10minutes drive if you find yourself turned away regularly, like we do… it’s also cheaper with plenty of floaties and a basketball hoop.
We went to the indoor pool and although there weren't very many lanes available, it wasn't too crowded so we were able to get our own lane. They very clearly mark the lanes for fast, slow and medium paces, which was great. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the temperature of the water was nice, but on the warm side. The only downside was that the chlorine smell was pretty strong, but I imagine this is the case for a lot indoor pools and we got used to it quickly.
After the recent renovations, I really like this place. The water is warm and has less chemical smell than most. The pool area is very clean. I'm not a strong swimmer, so I like the fact that a couple of the swim lanes are shallow and I can easily take a rest with my feet touching the bottom. They also have nice looking play areas for kids.
It’s massive indoor swimming pool, no need sun screen however, pool management needs to be improved. Expedite check in service, more professional way! And crowd management inside the swimming area is very essential.
