Family-friendly gym with a pool, group classes and basketball and volleyball courts.
The St. Charles YMCA maintains two distinct indoor pools with specific temperature ranges. The Lap Pool is typically kept at approximately 79-81°F (26-27°C), suitable for fitness swimming. For therapy, relaxation, and younger swimmers, the Warm Water Pool is maintained at a higher temperature, usually around 90-92°F (32-33°C).
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews consistently highlight significant organizational and communication problems, particularly within the youth sports programs (basketball and volleyball). Specific issues include delayed or missing schedules, frequent last-minute changes to game times and locations, and undertrained or late referees, leading to considerable frustration for parents. One review also detailed a problematic refund process. Beyond sports, the executive leadership is heavily criticized for prioritizing budget over employee welfare, creating a negative work environment and contributing to the YMCA's overall disorganization. While the facility is acknowledged as good with various amenities, its pricing is noted as being higher than competitors.

I’d give 0 if I could. Ive been dealing with the Y for me and my family for years! This is the only location I’ve had an issue with. Signed my son up for basketball never received a schedule mind you it’s less than a week away. Just paid $150 to do the membership and get him in basketball. Canceled and was told I’d get the $75 back at least. I had a prior balance from 4/5 years ago at another location so they only refunded me back $31! Less than 2 weeks ago they were given $150 total for absolutely nothing. Was told one thing and they didn’t follow through. The communication at this place is laughable. From reading other reviews on youth sports I’m so glad I pulled my son out and went with I9 sports! Much more organized and communication is there ! Would not recommend this Y to anyone looking for youth sports.
Where do I even start… The Executive of this ymca is the worst boss you could ever ask for. She acts like she cares about her employees but that couldn’t be further from the truth… The only thing she truly cares about is the budget, which is fair it is her job. The problem is she will step on whoever or do whatever it takes to achieve this goal. This includes treating her employees like garbage. I will not get into specifics because I don’t want anyone to get in trouble, I just want them aware. There are so many problems at this YMCA… Everything is a result of the leader. If no one likes/ respects them it’s destined to fail. The leader at this YMCA needs to take a long look in the mirror if this place wants to be what it wants to be.
This has been the most frustrating volleyball session for my daughter. The schedules are not sent out in a timely manner and the new refs are terribly undertrained causing a lot of problems. They also refuse to lift the basketball hoops for vball games which makes it very hard for the kids to serve and play the whole court. Very disappointing!!!
My son played in the kids basketball league for one session. His coach was the best coach he’s ever had for a sport, and my son really enjoyed his team. However, many games were rescheduled, refs showed up late, the championship games were rescheduled three times in less than 24 hours and the location was changed three times as well with the last changes occurring the day of with less than an hour notice. Some games were played in Ferguson, others at St. Charles HS, quite the difference in distance when games are changed last minute. The league was affordable but the disorganization made it difficult.
Good facility, pricing is somewhat higher than other places but it does have a lot of amenities that maybe others don’t have
