Salt Lake Swimming Pool is a public aquatic facility located in Honolulu, Hawaii, operated by the City and County of Honolulu. It serves the local Salt Lake community, providing a main swimming pool for recreational swimming, lap swimming, and instructional programs.
Specific, maintained pool temperatures for the Salt Lake Swimming Pool are not typically advertised. As a public outdoor facility in Hawaii, its pools are generally unheated and their temperature largely depends on ambient weather conditions and solar warming.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Salt Lake pool generally offers a clean, pleasant, and non-judgmental suburban swimming experience, noted for its neat deck and lack of crowding. It features an Olympic-sized pool with a deep center and designated lanes, with one side often remaining quiet and wake-free for relaxed swimming. Reviews are mixed on water heating; one describes it as heated with comfortable temperatures, while another suggests wearing layers due to it not being heated. The pool provides enjoyable water walking, exercise, and swim classes, and includes showers. Common complaints include limited operating hours and an instance of strict, seemingly arbitrary dress code enforcement, where an 8-year-old was denied entry for wearing 'regular shorts' despite listed restrictions not covering such attire.

All public pools have a very specific vibes based on its location and people who swim there, kind of a personality. Salt lake pool has very pleasant non judgmental, not crowded, suburban feel. The pool is clean and deck around the pool is neat and non chaotic. Olympic size pool, heated, water temperature is comfortable almost all the time. The pool is designed deepest, 5 feet plus, in the center part of the pool and has lanes marked out on both ends. For whatever reason short course lap swimmer do not swim in the the middle. OK probably because you cannot stand up and touch bottom between laps. Most or more people favor swimming on the side of the pool with the cubby hole and the other side of pool has a steps and a lift for people with disability and maybe a funny reputation but leaves the other side of pool empty wake free. That is where I like to swim slow non competitively, enjoying feeling the wake free water doing drills without around me and really learn to swim without distraction.
Water walking, water exercise, and swim classes all fun with good company from a mix of regulars and new participants. Nice mix of options for classes and open swim periods. 4 stars only because this pool is not heated (wear rash guard or extra layer if you are cold before warming up). Showers are heated except for summer months.
I love this pool. We moved in 2017. We love the Salt Lake Neighborhood.
We were visiting and had some time to join some friends there; they have showers so we could doll up before our plane flight. Hours limited.
Agree it's probably the cleanest pool maybe because they deny people to go in the pool my 8 year old was using pretty regular shorts thinish bball shorts and was not allowed to swim nvm the fact that the restrictions listed as no tank tops t shirts and Jean shirts...guess they only really want the grandpa's and mamasans to enjoy the pool for the shopping 2 and a half hours there open during the day
