Your standard community pool. Don’t forget your pool pass! Plenty of parking that I have never seen full. Clean changing rooms with showers and dry benches. Lifeguards seem like you normal kids doing summer jobs and a good job enforcing g the normal pool rules. They have two lap lanes, 8.5 foot deep end, in pool volleyball and basketball that the kids take over every time. Most times of day about half the seats are in the shade or can be moved to be in the sun/shade. Lots of big trees cast shade on half the seating area.
Of Reston's many pools I would say that Hunter's Woods is of one my favorites. Accoutrements include a large hot tub, diving board, open swim area, lap area, water basketball hoop, and water volley ball area. It's clean, well managed and the guards are top notch. It also has a small kiddy pool.
Great pool. Max depth is 8.5 feet. It has fitness hours on Thursday so only 15+ year olds are allowed and you have to be doing lap swimming or some kind of water fitness. Will go back another day to try the kid okay area
Super fun since I was a kid; then my kids; now my grandkid- always kept up- no pics because always kids everywhere. Ice cream man shows up for treats. Castles, dragons, bridges, speed boat for get away, steps and slides, etc for every size
pros: lap pool, deep end, hot tub, kiddie fountains, playground, clean. cons: smaller pool/parking, heavily shaded outside of high noon, no traditional kiddie pool
