Shallow and deep option, with diving boards and a 50-meter lap section as well as a volleyball court.
The pools at Lake Newport are generally heated for comfort, often maintained within a range of 80-82 degrees Fahrenheit (26.7-27.8 degrees Celsius) during their operational season.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Lake Newport Pool features a large, 50-meter main pool with two diving boards, well-suited for lap swimming, training, and various skill levels. Some reviews praise its cleanliness and attentive staff, noting it can be uncrowded with ample seating. However, significant issues include a dirty baby pool, and very unclean toilets, showers, and changing facilities. The pool can be noisy, and there are recurring complaints about unsupervised, rowdy individuals creating a disruptive and unsafe environment. Lifeguards are often seen as ineffective in enforcing rules, and management's response to these issues has been criticized as slow and inadequate. While conveniently located near a village center, accessibility via public transport can be challenging.

The main pool is great for lap swimming, as it’s a 50 meter pool. I went on a Sunday afternoon, and the pool was pretty empty, so there were plenty of chairs. The baby pool was quite dirty with leaves and dirt, so I wouldn’t be excited to take my grandchildren there.
Lake Newport Pool is fantastic! The facility is super clean and fresh, and the staff is always welcoming and attentive. With two diving boards, it's perfect for both adults and kids. The pool is very large with plenty of lanes, making it ideal for swimmers of all levels. Highly recommend for a great day out!
The best swimming pool at Reston Association. I finally had chances to visit and swim in this swimming pool in person when I was a camper at Reston Association camps including CIT camp. Great 50-meter swimming pool making it a REALLY large pool and it also has two 1-meter diving boards making the diving area great. It is also at a REALLY prime location making it walking distance to North Point Village Center where a lifeguard having a day off can go eat either in the summer or year-round. However, it would be too far of a walk to/from Wiehle-Reston East or Reston Town Center metro stations making it more inconvenient than Upper Lake Tennis courts when the Fairfax Connector bus service is suspended meaning that their bus drivers and mechanics are on strike. I also highly recommend this swimming pool because the fact that it is 50 meters long makes it more challenging and can help you train better for the 200 yd freestyle and 500 yd freestyle to compete at swim meets when being on the high school swim team or club swim team.
The pool is nice, big, deep, but very noisy. The big minus about it is that the toilets, showers and the area next to them are very, very dirty. They are cleaned very poorly or not cleaned at all ((
I'm only giving 3 stars because of the rowdy and rude behavior of a group of 4-6 unsupervised "big boys" who were bullying and disrespectful, putting chairs on the diving board and dominating the space not following rules, some refusing to exit the pool during hourly adult swim after being told repeatedly by lifeguards, and then other adults finally verbally insisting that they get out. Lifeguards were absolutely powerless (not that they tried too hard), and then after multiple complaints, management finally came and made a big show of circling the pool and listening to everyone who complained, and then, literally hours later when most of the troublemakers had gone home, they finally talked to one of the boys. It was so unpleasant and dangerous, and everyone was complaining. Their passes should be revoked and management should enforce rules.
