The Sprague Street Splash Pad, located at 1350 E Sprague St, Winston-Salem, NC, is a public outdoor recreational water feature. It offers various ground sprays and water elements, providing a free and fun way for children and families to cool off and play during the warmer seasons.
As a splash pad, the facility does not feature a traditional pool with specific temperature controls. The water is typically supplied at ambient temperature from the municipal source and is not heated.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? This splash pad is widely regarded as a top-tier, free attraction in Winston/Forsyth County, often described as a 'hidden gem.' Key highlights include its unique and very fun slide, large water-dumping bucket, and other engaging water features that give it a feel of a paid amusement park. It's noted for being clean, generally uncrowded, fenced-in, and offering ample parking and picnic areas. However, significant drawbacks are the presence of homeless adults bathing in the splash pad and fountain features, as well as other adults smoking or yelling, which detracts from the family-friendly environment. Minor cons include limited shade (suggesting visitors bring umbrellas/chairs), bathrooms located outside the gated area, and a desire for more seating.

Pros- Best splash pad in Winston. Slide is very fun for kids and a unique feature. Clean and generally uncrowded. Cons- Area can be sketchy. I have seen homeless adults shower in the splash pad and other adults with no children sitting there smoking/yelling. Not ideal for a children’s area.
Fun little free splash pad, the slide was a hit with my son! It wasn’t busy despite it being a hot summer weekend. We’ll be back and being chairs/umbrella next time. There was a little shade but not much. The kids were all great, and respectful. Some of the bigger kids were wilding out on the slide but we’re careful of the littles. Also loved that it was fenced in
This is a wonderful out-of-the-way splash pad. My seven-year-old grandson was upset that our plans fell through and told me he didn’t wanna go to a splash pad. However, as soon as he saw the slide, he was all smiles. Pros: Out-of-the-way in a small neighborhood. Fenced in. Nice grass to play in. A fun Waterslide. Lots of tables to sit at. Cons: There were homeless people bathing in the shower and also in the fountain features. They brought beer in with them. The bathrooms are on the other side of the building outside the gated area. Had to pack up the kids to take one to the bathroom. There is no shade bring an umbrella. Bring some extra chairs that would be nice. I agree with all the other reviews. It was great fun on a hot afternoon. The downside was the homeless bathing. There seems to be a concession stand maybe but it wasn’t open. Bring lots of food and plenty to drink, cause you’re gonna be here a while
It's really a hidden gem. It's clean. My kids ABSOLUTELY enjoyed themselves & I did as well. I would only recommend more seating. Other than that it's definitely a vibe & a place to be & see
It's official, this is the best splash pad in Forsyth County behind Nelson Malloy. The splash pad occupied the area of the filled in Sprague Street Park Pool. The park has ample 🅿️ parking, 🚻 restrooms, and ♿ handicap accessible features. It is a gated splash pad with multiple picnic areas and even some umbrella coverage. The key features of this park is the huge bucket that dumps gallons of water every few minutes and the slide! This makes this park feel like a paid amusement park but it's free. They also have tons of 💦🌊 water features, water guns, mister areas, and geysers.
