Clean municipal pool offering swimming lessons, plus a dive pool and lap lanes.
The indoor pool at Betsy Patterson Aquatic Center is maintained at 82 degrees Fahrenheit (approx. 27.8 Celsius). The outdoor pool's temperature is kept at 80 degrees Fahrenheit (approx. 26.7 Celsius). For therapeutic purposes, the warm water therapy pool is consistently heated to 92 degrees Fahrenheit (approx. 33.3 Celsius).
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the pool are mixed. Many visitors, particularly families, report enjoyable experiences, praising swim lessons with patient instructors and the overall family-friendly atmosphere, with kids often loving the diving boards and outdoor amenities. However, common criticisms include significant overcrowding, insufficient open recreation lanes due to a large portion of the main pool being designated for lap swimming, and a perceived lack of activities for children, with diving boards sometimes being closed. Other issues noted are an inconvenient entrance requiring patrons to pass through showers, inconsistent pricing at the front desk, and lifeguards inconsistently enforcing rules. Broader concerns about long waitlists for city pools and the need for more swimming access were also expressed.

Weird spot why? CROWDED! ...And well, you have to pass the shower and folks bathing on the women's side before you get to the pool no separate entrance, inappropriate. NOT ENOUGH lanes for open recreation. The lap swimmers could go on all day (Selfish). Then some children just want to JUMP and make A BIG SPLASH. Before you come for me in the comments some children have water trauma and slowly returning to warm can help but not even folks are adding to the trauma. NO SPLASHING Signs. Lastly, the L O N G wait list for city pools is enough especially when more children die in New Mexico due to the lack of ability to swim.
Not a lot for kids to do diving boards closed. More then half of the main pool was marked off for lap swing. Life guards making up own rules, ( kids playing in lap lane get yelled at but 3 older kids in lap lane diving for ring and nothing). Front desk charges different each time.(1 adult 2 kids under13) Charged 6.oo one time 6.50 next time and 4.75 this time when I asked why different cost told just go in.
My experience was nice me and my kids had a fun time there. We love all the stuff there. The outside is great and that is a great place. We have been there so many times for the past years. I love it there. My kids love it and made so much Freinds there go Betsy Patterson pool
We are having a blast!!! My daughter is four, and she is in the jellyfish class. Her teacher is kind and patient. We love her. My daughter is excited every day to go to swim class. I recommend it to everyone.
It’s a good public pool. Kids love the diving boards. The rec swim area is a bit small for busy summer days so it will often hit capacity. I do wish they would remove lap swim lanes during rec swim
