The Fox Lake Splash Pad, located at 10 Riverview Ave in Fox Lake, IL, is an outdoor water play area primarily designed for children. It features a variety of interactive water elements such as jets, sprayers, and dumping buckets, providing a fun and refreshing experience during the warmer seasons. It is a popular spot for families seeking to cool off.
As a splash pad, the facility typically utilizes unheated, ambient temperature municipal water for its various features. Specific water temperatures are not provided, as the water is not temperature-controlled or heated like a traditional swimming pool.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The splash pad receives mixed reviews. Many visitors praise the affordable entry fee ($1-2 per child, though one mentioned $4), which grants all-day access and allows re-entry, making it convenient for families. The extended hours (10 am-6 pm, 7 days a week) are also appreciated by some. However, common complaints include the 'cash only' payment policy, which can be inconvenient, and reports of the splash pad frequently being closed or the nearby park area being dirty with geese droppings. One reviewer expressed general disapproval of having to pay for a splash pad.

Never herd of a splash pad you had to pay for kinda defeats the purpose
I took my children to the splash pad and they loved it. I am a non-resident and when I heard that Fox lake was opening a splash pad I was excited to take my kids there. Its only $2 for non-residents and you can stay for as long as you want. You even have the option to leave the park to have lunch and then come back to play some more. I would have to say that my favorite part is that the splash pad is open seven days a week from 10am-6pm. I will definitely bring my kids back on my days off of work.
I took my cousins to the splash pad and they absolutely loved it! I was able to take my cousins back for a nap and then go back to the splash pad after the nap and still get in with the same wristband I brought previously that day. For only $1 it was a great thing to do on a hot summer day!
Forth of July we were the only lucky people there lol. I was a little upset at first, CASH ONLY! I was not prepared I came along with my two small children and boyfriend mind you hot day, one in a stroller the other one yelling let's go let's go water time! Well we arrive lady tells me cash only my bf had to make the drive to the nearest gas station to takeout cash for the kids to be able to go in. Waste of gas considering it was only $4 but what ever. My kids had fun. As did we. Nice location. No complaints
Every time I have driven by this place the splash pad is closed and the one day my Mom and I took my daughter there to play at the park nearby it was full of geese poop and so dirty. Very disappointing.
