Great park with GREAT coasters. All employees were super nice and friendly! Ticket prices are not bad, but food & drinks are a bit stiff on cost. Worth it. Some of the best coasters I've rode! My family had a blast!!!
This was my first time visiting the park in at least 20 years but as soon as I walked in I felt the nostalgia and all of the memories of those prior visits when my mom would take my brothers and I. This was my first time taking my own kids so I was super excited to create some new memories. The park was smaller than I remembered, but that turned out to be a good thing. Our hotel was directly across the street so we were able to get there almost right at opening time. We were able to ride all of the coasters that we wanted to, aside from the 2 that were closed. I mentioned the size of the park because we're used to going to Cedar Point, which is larger than Great America, which means more area to cover, which means faster fatigue. At Great America, I felt comfortable walking around the park all day and the rides were placed in a manner that seemed like you can get to the other side of the park in a few minutes. We went on a Saturday in July and the wait times were reasonable. The longest wait time for the most popular rides were listed as 60 minutes on the app, but it wasn't always accurate. We ordered all of our tickets, extras, and parking ahead of time through the website and the app. If you can, spring for the unlimited dining pass. Generally, two people can split a meal or snack every 90 minutes with drink refills every 15 minutes. We ate good and stayed hydrated. I definitely recommend that option. I had a wonderful time and if you plan it out properly, you will too. I look forward to my next visit.
We had a great time at Six Flags Great America! There are so many fun rides and the park has a lot to offer for all ages. It was an exciting day and we really enjoyed the energy and atmosphere. But there were a few downsides. The wait times for rides were really long, which made it hard to enjoy more of the park. Also, some rides require extra payment inside, which we didn’t expect after buying tickets. It would be even better if they had street shows or entertainment for people who aren’t into rides—it would help pass the time and keep the fun going for everyone. Still, it’s a fun place for families and thrill-seekers. Just go early and be ready to wait a bit!
First time here with my granddaughter!! And shes a roller coaster lover just like me!!! She went on every roller coaster here!! We were also able to go on roaring rapids, and she loved that we went on three times!!! The only thing that was a little crazy was the price of the food. I expected it, but I still think it's ridiculous How much it is!!!! It was good and we both enjoyed it though. There need to be more bottle filling stations!!! Especially when it costs seven dollars for a bottle of water!!!!! We bought the fast lane passes which were very expensive. But well worth it, because we didn't wait at all for any ride!!! I didn't want to be standing in line with my granddaughter. The first time I took her here. We bought the silver season passes which is great because we'll get back here at least once more before the end of the season. So they paid for themselves. Next time, we will be bringing a cooler with food to go out to the car and eat to save money.
Don't use apple pay! Parking was smooth, at the gate there was an issue and one of our 4 tickets had been suspended. My 17 year old was not allowed in but the front guest services was closed and we had to go to the guest services that was inside the park. We had to talk to another person at the gate to allow him (17yr old) into the the park so we could get the issue resolved. It took us at least 30 minutes to get that issue and the flash pass issue resolved. They were not sure what was going on other than it was an issue with apple pay. We had the drink/food bundle, we went to different stalls with little to no queue and couldn't understand what was taking the employees 5-10 minutes to hand us the food that was already prepared behind them. Get the meal/drink pass, it's 100% worth it. Set timers or keep track of time to make sure you get your money's worth. If you don't have a flash pass, don't complain about those who do. If you're thrifty, it's well worth the money. All in all, everyone had a good time, teens had the flash pass, parents didn't.
