Park and water park featuring pools, slides and picnic areas.
The Hunt Club Park Aquatic Center, the main aquatic facility at 920 Hunt Club Rd, is an outdoor seasonal water park. Pool temperatures for outdoor facilities like this are generally not fixed and can vary with weather conditions, though they are typically maintained at a comfortable level for swimming during operating hours. For year-round indoor aquatic programming, the Gurnee Park District often utilizes partner facilities, such as the Grayslake Central High School Natatorium, where indoor pool temperatures for lessons and general use are typically maintained in a comfortable range, often between 80-84°F.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Gurnee Park District's aquatic center and park facilities are highly praised, especially for families. Key highlights include excellent pool areas with slides for both adults and children, spray grounds for little ones, and plenty of shallow areas for exploration. Reviewers appreciate the good value, less crowded environment, and overall cleanliness, noting it's a fun experience, though perhaps not as 'cool' or elaborately themed as some competitors. The staff is consistently described as friendly, helpful, and safety-conscious, with positive feedback regarding accommodations for children with disabilities. Beyond the aquatic center, the park district's facilities are noted for being well-kept and hosting enjoyable community events like Summer Concerts and Rib Fest, the latter praised for its food. A specific area for improvement mentioned is the 'Summer Kitchen,' which reportedly needs an on-demand hot water heater to adequately supply hot water for dishwashing.

Great pool, kid, and little kid areas. Adult sized and child sized slides...cheaper and feels cleaner than great wolf but not as "cool"
Dive into fun at Gurnee Park District’s Hunt Club Park Aquatic Center! With slides for thrill-seekers and a spray ground for the little ones, it’s a splashin’ good time for the whole family. Safety is top-notch, so you can relax and soak up the sun. Come make a splash!
We love the park. Good $$$ value, not too crowded, built in breaks to get your kids out of the water, and a fun concession stand. What's not to love?
I spent the afternoon here with 2 of my boys last weekend, and they had a blast. There are plenty of places to explore while staying near the shallow end. The staff was friendly and helpful in answering all of my questions about the pool experience for my oldest son with a disability. Im looking forward to bringing him in next time!
