Marcum Park in Hamilton is a great setting for kids to play and explore with so much to see and do. It offers handicap access, and is nestled on a square with low posted traffic, and curbside parking developed with people and safety in mind. On the outskirts of the Historic German Village area, Marcum Park has water jets and pools for kids, and pets to cool off, and lush green grass to play on. It also sets beside the River's Edge outdoor music venue where the entire community can watch shows throughout the season. Bands like the Eagle's Project, Whimmydiddle, Scotty Bratcher, or former groups like Magic Lightning Boys/Brass Owl will entertain and mesmerize with pro level musicianship. Through a combo of paid and volunteers it offers general admission free concerts, with tickets being available for better seating. So whether you plan to walk your pet, pass a frisbee, give the kids some stress-free time, take a walk, or see a band, this is a beautiful part of the community. Bring a chair, or a blanket, and support their Facebook page for a list of groups. Local vendors like Neals Barbeque and others are present to purchase food for events, and alcoholic beverages are allowed to be served. It is listed and posted as being a Tobacco Free area. This of course does not stop everyone from smoking or vaping, but is limited to designated areas.

It was a great place for a concert! David Shaws Big River Get Down was my favorite Revivalists show so far, and I've seen several all over the country. The people here were friendly, I felt safe and there was no harassment by the police. Great experience!!

My first visit to Marcum Park in Hamilton, Ohio, was for the Santacon event. The park is a charming, open space situated alongside the Great Miami River, surrounded by attractive apartments, restaurants, and shopping options. Its features include whimsical statues of children and a pleasant walking path. I did not notice any restrooms, or designated areas for dogs. I parked in a church parking lot, as I didn’t see parking areas for the park. It may have been in the construction area. During my visit, it appeared that the park was undergoing some repairs or updates. While relatively small, Marcum Park provides an inviting atmosphere, making it an excellent spot to relax before or after dining or shopping in the area. Although this year’s Santacon event was the park’s first and did not attract a significant crowd, I believe it has the potential to become a delightful holiday tradition with increased promotion and community engagement. As you can tell by our photo shoot gone wrong, we had a great time.

Really enjoy seeing the area turned into green space. I remember the area growing up. It used to be where Mercy Hospital was. The area had become an attraction for the city of hamilton. Many people enjoy the park during events held at the amphitheater. I always enjoy coming to the park when the food truck rally is there!
