UPDATE: it has been 2 WEEKS since I checked out and they HAVE NOT REFUNDED my deposit!! SCAM ALERT!! I was passing by Columbia and needed to stop by for one night so I picked this hotel for the price. I booked online through hotels.com for a king bed, no smoking room. It was pretty hard to find because the name is not actually OYO. They just bought Regency Inn and renovating but no sign on the road to tell you that. When I finally found it, I got told they only have doubles. I thought it was just one night so I was fine with it. I have been to many hotels so when I got to the room, I immediately check the bed and the restroom to make sure they’re clean. The beds seem fine but I found a live roach in the bathtub. The room also has a smoking smell lingering in the air. I was annoyed but at this point it was late and I was tired so I thought it’s alright for one night. I came home and 2 days later and I got about 15 insect bites all over my body (I suspect it’s bed bugs). Now I have to wash everything I brought with me and treat these bites. Save yourself, spend a little more money and do not stay there!
The hotel has new ownership and they working on the staffing and overhauling the rooms so I consider it a work in progress, but the staff makes up for it. They were super professional and did the best to make my stay as pleasant as possible. When I did have an issue they went above and beyond to rectify the situation. If I was in town again I would not hesitate one bit on staying here again. Ignore the current poor rating which was mostly when it was under previous ownership. This hotel is a budget diamond in the rough.
I would give this place 0 stars if possible. Rooms look nothing like the pictures online. There are roaches in the rooms.. one of the rooms I was in had leaks under the sink and air conditioner. There is mold in the rooms. Homeless people sitting under the stairs. It's never quite. And they charged me $280 for the week plus $50 deposit on the room. I will never come back to this hotel again. I do not reccomend this place at all. Update: I've been out of this place for a week now and i still haven't recieved my $50 deposit.
Why do hotels have to hire new people with no customer service skills? And inconsistently enforce policies contrary to what they advertise? The website says a person can check in as early as 6am subject to availability. Of course now they have a new person who says "No" to hear the sound of the word come from her lips apparently. #obnoxious the review that follows is from earlier stays Excellent customer service. Hotel is becoming an Oyo. Great price through the Oyo app. New manager went out of his way to be accommodating. Room was great. Domino's wouldn't deliver pizza out of "safety concerns". Hotel seemed totally safe to me. Don't expect much from the "breakfast". You'll be disappointed. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again.
I made a reservation and was a bit concerned when I pulled in. It looked like a bad quality motel. However, the gentleman at the desk was great and I was surprised by the room. It was clean, wifi was great quality, shower was hot, beds were comfortable. No complaints at all. Awesome price too!
