Pool, sauna and hot tub get minimal attention. Since Onelife fitness took over, they have lowered the water temperature of the pool and no matter how many people complain about how cold it is, they don’t raise it one bit. It’s frustrating how comments and emails go unanswered. There is usually between 3-6 employees at the front desk at all times, but no one is paying attention to the gym, definitely not the pool area. A chair lift used for handicap people was left in the middle of a walkway from the men’s to the pool area, blocking half the walkway for approximately 5 months. It wasn’t moved until management from Virginia came for a visit. Now it’s blocking towel hooks for the members. The hose was left in the shower that members are supposed to use to rinse off before they get into the water, many don’t and no one is there to enforce the rules. My workout is suffering, as I don’t like swimming in the colder water. MUV fitness kept the water at 85 degrees, Onelife Fitness has kept it at 77-82 degrees and the difference is very noticeable. Many members have not been swimming as much or have been going somewhere else. Not to mention the pool is never cleaned. I have only seen a vacuum in there once during operating hours when people were in the water and the unit that was plugged into the wall outlet, tipped over and almost fell into the pool. Definitely not how a nice gym should operate.
I absolutely love the time I take to work on me at OneLife Fitness‼️ The facility is great and working on my mind & my body plus having that sense of community I love it! I work hard, play hard & rest hard so for me this is combining it all in one. The trainers & staff are always warm, welcoming & friendly and ready to help… like Aaron & Raeisi (aka Rice) to name a few, have the patience of a saint. Then there’s my AquaAerobic's Instructor Coach Thomas, oh my goodness absolutely amazing!! As much as I work I will not miss his sessions. Looking forward to participating in the pleather of opportunities ahead as I get stronger by the week. 💖
The gym is cool but customer service isn’t the best. The manager over the childcare isn’t a bad person but doesn’t seem like a great fit for her job. Makes staff call me about every little thing to the point that it’s hard to get a workout completed. The previous gym I attended closed and this one was recommended to me. My son is autistic and attempts to elope which I explained ahead of time. We had absolutely no issues at the previous gym. My workouts were never interrupted, they cared, got familiar with him, even ordered a childproof lock for the door and it was only one adult for the class of kids. Here it is three adults and it’s never full when I bring him. Initially I thought they just don’t want to do their job and they are just used to sitting down watching the “typical” kids play whereas my son you have to actually watch him or he will get curious some days and try to go into the gym. I’ve spoken with management twice and the conversation wasn’t horrible but the amount of times I was cut off I didn’t appreciate. I was also recommended to maybe try another location or a different gym which I brushed off the first time but the second time hearing it truly made me feel pushed out. I picked this gym and location for a reason and travel 25 minutes just to go there. Not pleased when how my situation was handled or childcare services. Note that there are some lovely ladies that care and have patience in childcare. My experience just made me feel highly uncomfortable and disappointed.
We came in today to sign my wife up, and we were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service provided by Brandon R. He was incredibly helpful, answered all of our questions with patience and clarity, and made sure we felt taken care of throughout the process. His professionalism and welcoming attitude have left us genuinely excited about our gym experience. Based on the outstanding customer service we received, we will absolutely be recommending Brandon R. as the go-to person for anyone looking to sign up.
General manager Brandon did an amazing job with my tour today I was able to learn about one life and what they offer. As a beginner in the gym I was a little anxious but after my tour I am more than confident and ready to start. Thank you Brandon
