What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews present a mixed but predominantly negative view of the YMCA's services, with particular dissatisfaction directed at its youth and childcare programs. Multiple members, including long-term ones, report significant issues with staff professionalism, citing instances of rudeness, condescending behavior, and a lack of proper supervision. Specific concerns include staff failing to address bullying, theft, and injuries, allowing children to overindulge in unhealthy food, and not communicating critical incidents to parents. Operational inconsistencies, such as unannounced rule changes in the Child Watch program, also contribute to member frustration. Several members have canceled services or pulled their children from programs due to these ongoing problems and a perceived lack of responsiveness from management. On the positive side, some reviews commend the facility's cleanliness, well-equipped gym, nice pool, and the politeness of lifeguards and some younger staff members, with a few expressing positive experiences with the facility amenities.

I am deeply disappointed in the continued decline of the YMCA’s youth services, particularly in the Child Watch program. One staff member in particular—who frequently wears her baby and claims to be a former Child & Youth Program Director—consistently displays rude, condescending behavior toward parents. Before talking with multiple parents I thought we were the only ones who had this issue. Her attitude is unprofessional and completely unacceptable, and I’m genuinely baffled as to how she remains employed by the organization. Today marked the final straw. I have officially canceled our services after being a member for over 7 years. It saddens me to think of the children who continue to attend and rely on these programs, especially considering the quality of care and support they deserve. Additionally, the constant changes to Child Watch rules—often made without proper communication—place an unfair burden on paying members. Your internal logistics and policy shifts should be managed more effectively and not passed on as confusion or inconvenience to families who support the YMCA. Please do not use a selling point for services that you all cannot offer. I hope the organization takes serious steps to improve both its staff professionalism and operational consistency moving forward. More and more every day it feels like this place is ran by children. Management and front doesn’t greet or speak, only to the favorites.

This is our first time visiting and getting a family membership at the Y. The facility looks clean, the gym has lots of different equipment and weights, and the pool is nice. They have a small track upstairs for walking or running, courts, an exercise activities room a childcare/summer camp, and more. The staff of young adults,,and teens are well trained and I will keep my membership going.

My issue with this place is the camps/after school care, the kids, and the staff. I have called and emailed about several concerns that I have had. Even spoke with the youth director and an employee directly. No one seemed to care. A counselor allowed our child to sit on their lap. Other counselors were allowing these children to overindulge themselves in the food. The youth director herself admitted that this was a huge problem and she is doing her best to keep it under control. I heard other parents have had similar experiences/concerns. Who lets a child eat three personal pizzas or three/four muffins in one sitting A muffin was 290 for just one! Times 3 870 calories. Including other snacks throughout the day. There is no way they have done enough activity to move that food through their bodies. The counselors were either sitting together conversing with each other or sitting eating the food themselves. My child injured herself on the slide on the back of one of her legs. They never treated her or gave her a bandage! They let her walk around with an open wound. Then on a separate occasion, another child picked up something from our daughter’s lunchbox and spite on it. I’m grateful to the little girl who reported. Two other children have went into her bag and stole her personal items. Thankfully she got some of them back. All except for her jacket. They could never find it. I was never told of any of these things. Instead of telling me that- A counselor thought it was more important to tell me that another child said she cursed and she was holding up the monkey bars - she said that she didn’t curse and she needed a moment before she went across. I pulled her out of this program so fast. I held off on the review waiting for a response and nothing. They surely did email about signing up/registration for next year. This is such an amazing place. 🙃

Major issues with the childcare constantly. Me and my spouse have had 2 issues min a week with the past 3 weeks, with the lackluster performance of the employees. Just last week a kid spit on my kids food she told them employees and the only answer she gets is that it’s ok. The week before that random kids trying to take other kids electronics . My spouse has emailed them and nothing changes. Fix THE INDIVIDUALS IN CHARGE of the childcare program. I’m tired of my wife emailing you with no response. For the prices of childcare FIX IT
