What are people saying (AI review summary)? This swim school receives widespread praise for its highly effective instructors, such as Kyle, Thalia, and Jamie, who are credited with helping children, including those with special needs like autism, learn and advance quickly in swimming. Reviewers highlight the instructors' engaging, confident, and fun approach, which makes lessons enjoyable and productive. The facility is consistently described as clean, with flexible scheduling options. While prices are noted as not being the cheapest, customers generally feel the value and quality of instruction are worth the cost. However, there are some areas for improvement: some instructors are hard to book due to popularity, a desire for more family showers, and a warmer changing area. A significant complaint revolves around poor communication, specifically the lack of phone service and reliance on text messages, which has led to frustration regarding cancellations and general inquiries. This issue was exacerbated by an unprofessional and blame-shifting response from the general manager to a negative review, causing some parents to consider leaving the school.

KYLE IS THE BEST! Sadly he’s always booked up you have to snag your sessions with him quick but 10/10. My son did 4 lessons with 4 other people swimming incorrectly and they just let him. Kyle corrected him within the first 5 mins of class and it made a world of difference. He is fun but strict. Carol is great too! The swim school itself is great. They work with your schedule you can do as many sessions or as little as you please. Prices aren’t the cheapest but they definitely are not the most expensive either! The facility is always clean. They have changing rooms. My only complaint is more family showers, but other than that I recommend!
Everything the big blue swim school does has been fantastic. We started working with them through Special Olympics and they did a great job working with my autistic son to learn how to swim. He has come a long way as a swimmer even more than we expected. We kept working with them after Special Olympics because of how good everything was going, and we have been very pleased with the instructors, the facility, and everything that goes along with learning how to swim. We now also have my five year-old son and lessons who is advancing rapidly and now at the end of the summer, we feel comfortable with both of them in the pool. Thank you so much To big blue swim school and all of our amazing instructors! If you are looking for a place to learn how to swim or to teach your kids how to swim this is absolutely the place to be
My kids have picked up swimming so quickly at this location. I thought taking them to the rec would be a less expensive option, however you get the training you pay for. So, if you want your kids to learn quickly I’d recommend spending a bit more money and bringing them here. Besides my kiddos love the instructors. I love Jamie, I think she’s the manager - she is attentive and very welcoming. She reassured me day one and continues to be a pillar for my comfort.
I wanted to leave a review for Thalia! We are fortunate to have her as our instructor!Other instructors at swim schools we tried were not as naturally comfortable, confident, upbeat, or near as engaging as she is! You can tell she enjoys working with both kids and adults and has great social skills. She isn’t afraid to engage with each and every person. We look forward to every session and I’ll tell you the classes I believe stay more full based on how well the instructors are. Other schools even during the busy seasons were never full and sometimes we were the only one. Even when one on one at other places the instructors weren’t enthusiastic or engaging! Thalia, thank you for all you do and making it a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone! We do wish the changing area could be warmer as my child is always shivering even with a towel around them afterwards. Others don’t seem to be cold though so maybe it’s just us? Doesn’t change the fact that this is the best school we have tried, even with higher prices.
The kids enjoy their lessons and they do like this swim school. We have noticed a huge improvement in their swim skills which is great. My only complaint is the communication. The communication for this location needs a lot of improvement. They never answer their phone. They push for text communication which is not helpful or appropriate. It is not acceptable that no one ever answers the phone. We once got a text message that class “might” be cancelled but no emails, phone calls, or follow up text messages on if class was cancelled or not. It took us four hours to figure out if classes were cancelled that afternoon. I would work on changing this “no phone” policy right away as many parents have discussed frustration with this during lessons. They say they don’t have the staff to have a phone. You expect customer service when spending hundreds of dollars a month. The text message communication is lazy, unprofessional, cheap, and not good customer service. Follow up- The general manager called me back 7 days later. Yes, 7 days later! The issue I called about needed solved that day as class was starting in a few hours. She called me because she was upset that I left this review. Said corporate cancelled the phone service and that was not her fault. Basically called me a liar and said they did send out an email that class was cancelled. Instead of trying to figure out better communication and figure out why emails weren’t sent out, they just blamed me. Wow! They don’t even care that multiple parents have been upset about the communication and have been talking about this during lessons. There are many swim schools out there that provide customer service. I was planning on continuing at this swim school but after I was just called and was basically yelled at by the GM for this review, I am now confident this is not the school for us.
