What are people saying (AI review summary)? The pool generally receives positive feedback, praised for its cleanliness, decent size, and amenities such as showers, restrooms, shaded picnic areas, and concessions. Many reviewers highlight the friendly and attentive staff, dedicated swimming lanes, and convenient free parking. It's considered a good spot for families, including birthday parties, and is accessible to non-residents. However, a significant concern was raised regarding strict policy enforcement, particularly for children with special needs. Reviewers noted inflexibility concerning slide use (even with parental assistance) and allowed floaties, with some finding the teenage lifeguards to be overly strict, even during private events. Despite this specific criticism, other reviews commend the lifeguards as generally 'good' and 'attentive'.

You'd think it'd be perfect for your special needs kid because they can touch the bottom and it doesn't get deeper than 4ft anywhere. But the teenage lifeguards here have no coaching or ability / freedom to consider exceptions for your well-behaved special needs kids. If they can't swim on their own, they can't use the slide, and the parent can't help them. And they can't use the floaties they need either, because only a certain type of floatie is allowed. I just saw this poor dad and his boy trying to spend time together at the pool and this teenager spent more time blasting her whistle at this cautious, attentive man than anyone else. The boy's mom, I saw, was also walking around, keeping an eye on everything. Two sets of eyes. Plus several other close-knit adults in the pool with only about a baker's dozen kids total. This was at a special private event with just a few families, not even in public hours with a full pool. Everyone was mindful and following the rules (church group), so the family definitely obeyed but I just wanted to point out that maybe there should be some consideration given here for policies in the future.
I went here for the opening weekend this summer, it was apparently free to get in that day bc of it so that was nice we walked right in. It still was not super crowded. It's a decent size pool, very clean with a shallow area for kids. Plenty of lifeguards. There were showers, bathrooms, picnic tables under shade and other sitting areas around the pool. Theres also like low key style snacks and drinks; concessions. Outside of the pools fence in the back is a little splash pad for the kids that is super cute but you have to walk out & around as its technically part of Stevenson Park. There are like swimming lanes I believe you would call it in the pool, it does have a deeper area of 5 feet max. There are swim lessons you can register for on the website & nonresidents of Friendswood can use the pool also its $2 person per day for residents & $4 person per day for nonresidents. They also have like summer passes you can get. Everyone who worked there was nice & all of the facilities & like vending machines they had worked properly. It's basically right on the park too so you can do both with one parking spot & the parking is free & convenient from what I saw! We are totally going back.
Wonderful place for a birthday party 🥳🎉🎉
Nice and clean, never too busy when we go after 7pm, a friendly and attentive staff, a dedicated swimming lane is also a plus. Our family loves coming here to cool off!
