Specific daily pool temperatures for Flat Rock Creek Pool are not typically published and can vary. What are people saying (AI review summary)? The pool generally receives positive feedback for being well-maintained, clean, and having attentive lifeguards, contributing to a safe family environment. Patrons appreciate various features such as a rock climbing wall, diving board, basketball hoop, Cornhole, zero-depth entry, ample seating, green areas, shade, and a snack bar. However, some users note difficulties with lap swimming due to ball games and a lack of designated lanes, and a complaint about the pool closing too early in the season. A significant concern raised is a detailed account of alleged racial discrimination by a lifeguard, where non-white children were reportedly denied access to an area later opened to white children, leading to feelings of being targeted, unwelcome, and a strong recommendation for diversity training for staff.

If you want to actually swim in this pool it’s a bit difficult due to the amount of people throwing balls in the pool and no designated lap lane. I feel like the basketball hoop and people throwing balls back and forth across the entire pool should be moved to the area where there’s a rock climbing wall so that there is actually the ability to swim without worrying about getting hit in the face with a ball. Other problem is that the pool closes way too early in the season. Everything else has been good, it’s well maintained and there are lifeguards.
We love this pool! It feels safe for my 6 year old and has some fun extra features like the rock climbing wall, driving board, basketball hoop and Cornhole.
We love this Lenexa Community pool. It does not get very crowded. The Adult Swim kind of sucks, but I usually take my little ones in any way. There is a snack bar with hot and cold food and beverages for sale. The pool has zero-depth entry diving board and a climbing wall. Plenty of chairs, green areas, Cornhole, and shade sails.
They have various sections and the pool is super clean! Lifeguards are always present and attentive to smallest details. Good experience.
I liked the pool. Most people were nice. However I felt like we weren't treated equally there. The young lifeguard told us a portion of the pool where the rock climbing wall was closed. She made my daughter get off of the wall and go to the other side of the rope. Well about 30 mins later there were kids (non- black or Hispanic) on the rock climbing wall having a good ol' time. I asked another lifeguard are there certain blocks of time the rock wall is open or closed? They said no. It was evident to me we were being discriminated against. I became uncomfortable and uneasy being there afterwards. I know biases may start at home, but when people work with the public there should be diversity training. No one should feel unwelcome by the staff at a public swimming pool. My children are older 14 and 18. They are quiet, well kept and very respectful young ladies, and didn't deserve to be treated as if they were lesser than other people. I had a conversation with them on the way home. They felt like they were being watched. Not in terms of their safety, but stared at. If this is a 'White's only" establishment it should be clearly posted in the entry way. Unfortunately we will not be returning. We will not go where we are not wanted.
