Gym, community center and swimming pool with basketball courts and a 3-story slide, plus friendly staff.
The indoor aquatic center at the Gladstone Community Center generally maintains its lap pool at approximately 80-82°F (26.7-27.8°C). The leisure pool, which often includes play features, is typically kept warmer at about 86-88°F (30-31.1°C). Additionally, a hot tub or spa is usually available, heated to around 102-104°F (38.9-40°C).
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the community center are mixed, showing both strong praise and severe criticism. Many members, including newer ones and children, highly appreciate the facility, citing a welcoming environment, pleasant front desk staff, and a wide variety of activities like basketball, swimming, and exercise classes that allow for making friends. The 'Gladfest' event held there was also a great success, noted for rides, good weather, ample parking, and enjoyable food. However, there are significant negative experiences reported. Some visitors describe extremely negative encounters with young male lifeguards who treated children poorly, using vulgar language, scaring them with aggressive behavior, and creating a threatening atmosphere during swim times. Additionally, the facility is criticized for being unsuitable for birthday parties, having a small gym with insufficient equipment leading to long waits, and experiencing atrocious parking issues, particularly during swim meets.

I’m a newer member. I absolutely love it here. I honestly just became a member for my son to have somewhere to play basketball and swim indoors (it was winter when we joined) and now I’m signing up for exercise classes, my son is playing sports… it’s great. I usually see the same front desk ladies and they are all pleasant to my family.
We arrived here for a party at 11:45am, and I have two small children who were treated like dogs by two of the younger male lifeguards during swimming from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. When we first started swimming at 12:30pm, one of the young teen lifeguards was violently slamming things in the lifeguard room while getting ready for his shift, scaring the children, and at one point my 9 year old went to go down the slide, and a younger, male teen lifeguard at the top was calling my child annoying because he was going down the slide to much, also calling other children there, vulgar names. Every chance those two young, male teens got, who have ZERO respect for families trying to enjoy themselves, would scream at the top of their lungs in a manner two grown men who are about to get into a physical altercation would scream, absolutely scaring the children. My nine year old was frozen in place at one point because he was confused, and scared of the teen on duty because of how down right awful, and threatening they were to my child. Management was notified, and one was sent to the opposite side of the swimming area, away from the children. This is a community center, where a community should feel welcomed, but unfortunately your young child might come in happy, but leave with psychological trauma. Absolutely wild.
10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND! It feels like a punishment to try to have a birthday party here. The only reason I come here is because I get a discount. The gym is too small, you will have to wait because there are no duplicate machines. The community center is constantly holding swim meets so parking is atrocious on those days.
As a kid I love being here ,the employees are nice and welcoming, you can also make knew friends doing fun activities together like swimming and playing sports.
Gladfest is a huge hit this year. Lots of rides, great weather, lots of parking. Good carni food. Kids LOVE it.
